My toshiba satellite u305-s5087 model has stopped giving sound.
When i check on the desktop status bar there is e message that no audio device is installed. I believe it is to do with sound drivers. I do not know what has happened because this has happened suddenly.
my laptop suddenly stopped producing sound and a message shows that no audio device detected. I guess it must be to do with sound drivers but aint so sure. Any help out there?

You can download the device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Please click on this link: - http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp
the problem is your using a toshiba. I bought one several yrs ago and in just a few yrs things stopped working. first the sound wuit, then usb ports stopped working then when booting up the laptop it asked for a non existant password. finally i just tossed it out
In Toshiba's support page there is a Realtek driver for Vista, and two of them, Realtek and Conexant, for 7.
Download and install the most appropriate one for your case.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.

Carlos
