Paring a Bluetooth Handset with Android phone:

Now that you have your headset in pairing mode, proceed to pair it with your phone:

From the home screen, press the Menu key and then select Settings.

Tap the "Bluetooth" toggle to ON.

Tap Bluetooth to scan for devices.
NOTE: You will automatically be connected to an available saved device when Bluetooth is turned on.

Tap one to connect.
NOTE: A security code may be required. (Try 0000)

The Bluetooth connected icon will be displayed in the notification bar, and the device will now be labeled as Connected.

Place calls using the Bluetooth headset

Ensure the Bluetooth headset is paired with the handset.
Place the Bluetooth headset over your ear.
Dial the desired the phone number on your phone, and then tap Call.
Receive calls using the Bluetooth headset

Ensure the Bluetooth headset is paired with the handset.
Place the Bluetooth headset over your ear.
Press the Call button on the Bluetooth headset when a call is received.

SETTING UP A BROADBAND CONNECTION
First you need to decide what type of broadband and Internet service you require and these are -
1. DSL that uses your existing telephone line.
2. Cable that uses a cable service and can include a cable TV service.
3. A USB wireless adapter uses the same 3G mobile/cell phone network and can be separately or combine with your cell phone account. This type of Internet connection uses a wireless device shaped like an USB memory stick.
Note - Combined services generally offer discount pricing and may include a modem/wireless router.

If you use a wireless router with a DSL or Cable Internet service then your laptop with a wireless card can then connect to the Internet. You can also connect to a free WiFi hot spots like McDonalds, Star Bucks, the Airport etc. using the wireless card in your laptop.
If you use the wireless 3G wireless broadband service, then you can access the Internet anywhere where your ISP has 3G wireless coverage. You need to check the service coverage area where you need Internet service.
Once you decide what type of broadband your require, then you need to check with the various Internet Service providers to see if they can offer and the cost of the various plans.

Caller ID is only sent to devices plugged directly into the "PHONE" jack on the back of the 21518. I'm guessing your TV DVR or Cable Box is connected directly to the real phone line. Maybe you need an RJ-11 splitter so you can plug both your phone AND the cable box in to the "PHONE" output of the 21518. I appologize if you've already tried this.

You'll have to find where the phone wiring in your house is connected to the telephone company. Know that disconnecting from the phone company will disable you from making or receiving calls through your landline, if it is still connected with a working number. Once you've found this, usually a small gray or green colored box on the outside of the house near your electrical meter, you'll have to open it and disconnect the wires that run into your house. It's a good practice to put a note on the outside and cover it with clear tape telling the telephone company not to reconnect the lines because it will damage sensitive equipment inside. After disconnecting from the telephone company, you'll just have to plug the PHONE port from the bluetooth gateway into a phone jack and it will ring all the phones in your house.

This is the "nature of the beast" with this unit. I have found the same issue. It seems to vary based on which cell phone you use it with. The Moto Droid I had briefly seemed to allow the DTMF tones to work pretty well. Otherwise, this is a great product. You'll just have to grab the actual phone to enter the tones. :(

Pairing With A Bluetooth Enabled Cell Phone

1. The BTCK06 and the Bluetooth enabled cell phone should be within a distance of 3 feet
(1 metre).


2. With the BTCK06 OFF, press the MULTI-FUNCTION Button (The bottom button) for 6 seconds.
The Red & Blue LED's will flash alternatley and the speaker will make a long BEEP sound.


3. The Bluetooth cell phone will search for nearby Bluetooth devices. The cell phone will display the
BTCK06 in the list of Bluetooth devices. If you are using a "dongle" type Bluetooth adaptor,
follow the manufacturer's instructions for that device.


4. Select BTCK06 to add this Bluetooth device into the list of the paired devices.


5. Enter in the PIN Code "0000" and your mobile phone will show that pairing is complete.


6. If Pairing is successful, user will hear a long BEEP and the Blue LED will flash about every
3 seconds.

There is an undocumented solution to link difficult devices. Instead of pushing ad releasing, hold either button down until you get a FAST BLINK and then try linking again.
