Bamboo Fun won't work w/ provided software

Just bought Bamboo Fun. Pen works great as a "mouse" on computer & works & recognizes handwritting on the "writing journal",etc. However, I've installed the provided Software Bundle CD & the pen does not work with Corel or Adobe Photoshop (I never installed the Nik Color program). Doesn't work with the tutorial -get you started- CD, either. What am I doing wrong? :( So, far I like the gadget, I just want to use it in the drawing/photo programs also! Thanks for any help.
(I'm in the process of uninstalling the software & re-installing-to see if that works.)
G- I too have installed the software bundle to the Wacom Bamboo Fun 5.8" x 3.7 USB Tablet with cordless pen and mouse - White and the pen does not work in either of those programs. I cannot figure out what the problem is. I am running Vista OS.

I think you need to select the right tool to use with the tablet, I like to use the tablet with the lasso tool. If you want to draw use Adobe Illustrator. If it works as a mouse I think you just need to learn how to use the software you are dealing with.

Hello,

I had the same problem when I got my laptop (Vista OS). The solution is to update the new driver for your bamboo. They are out of date so you need to go here: http://www.wacom.com/downloads/driver-detail.php?id=196 Updated @ Apr. 9, 2009

This update should allow Vista to find it.

Go to Control Panel, and open bamboo properties. There you select the "pen" tab. In the pen tab you will see tracking. Select pen mode and details. You can map the pad there. After mapping pen mode try it in mouse mode as well. Best of luck!

That happened to me yesterday. What I did was I went to the wacom site here: http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php, selected my tablet make and operating system, and downloaded the driver update. I installed it and as soon as it was done my pen started working again. Hopefully this works for you too!

Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet-Mac. Yellow box pops up under pen cursor.

Your tablet is set under the handwriting setting. Go to system preferences and select ink under hardware. Then turn off handwriting recognition.

Pen Tip Not Working

I had the same problem and called Wacom Customer Care at 360-896-9833... I was informed that the pen was defective/ broken and needs to be replaced. This can be caused by being dropped and such. I was told that i should keep the pen on the stand or a eyeglasses case when not in use.
If your tablet is under a year old, warranty will cover the cost of the pen with proof of purchase. Other than that, you will need to purchase a new pen (about $29.99 from Wacom & online).

Unfortunate, but great to know.
