    Have you applied the Illustrator 10.0.3 update? It is supposed to fix some unspecified problems running on Windows. You should also make sure Vista has all of the current updates as well since they sometimes release application compatibility fixes with little fanfare.

How can I return lost data to Adobe Illustrator CC2015.3 ??

How to repair illustrator file?Place the damaged Illustrator file in a new Illustrator file.

Important: This solution doesn't work if you didn't select Create Compatible PDF File in the Illustrator Native Format Options dialog box when you saved the original file. On the Macintosh platform, the damaged Illustrator file may appear dimmed in the Place dialog box, but you will still be able to select it and place it in the new Illustrator file.

  1. In Illustrator, choose File > New.
  2. Select the appropriate size and color mode, and then click OK.
  3. Choose File > Place.
  4. In the Place dialog box, choose All Formats from the Files of Type pop-up menu (Windows) or choose All Documents from the Show pop-up menu (Mac OS), choose the damaged file, and then click Place.
  5. Name and save the file.

I like to work with graphics

1. Run a full anti-virus scan. If possible, tell it to run the scan while the computer is booting up. Afterwards, try opening the program again. If it fails, try Step 2.
2. Go to Control Panel/Programs and features. Locate the list of installed programs and scroll down to Adobe. Click on Adobe and there should be an option to Repair or Uninstall. Choose Repair, if available. Otherwise, uninstall then re-install the software. (Sometimes, Windows Update is known to "break" an installed program; sad, but true).

How to installing photosop

I presume this is relating to CS3? If you have the CD/DVD that came with the packaging just pop it in your drive and let it autostart.

If it doesnt goto 'My Computer' and right click on the CD drive, select open and find setup.exe or set-up.exe - double clicking it should start it!

I use CS2 regularly and today, it freezes when I try to "open" or "place" files. I can't even minimize the page. Any ideas?

Double click on My Computer on your desktop and open C:>Documents and Settings > User >Application Data > Adobe > Adobe Illustrator CS2 Settings. (Your version of Illustrator will be in the foldr name.) Inside this folder is a file called AIPrefs. Drag this file to the trash, and restart Illustrator. Reset any custom preferences you want, and when you close Illustrator the preferences file will be regenerated.

You can also reset Illustrator's preferences by holding down Shift + Control + Alt while launching the program. If you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the Adobe Illustrator settings folder, click yes to proceed. Restart Illustrator. Reset any custom preferences you want, and when you close Illustrator the preferences file will be regenerated.

Hi Mekarim,

You may try this:

1. Open the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe folder and look for a folder starting with Type and meaning Type support; in 10 it is called TypeSpt;

2. Create a namesake folder on your Desktop;

3. Move all the contents to the namesake folder.

Please report back, including the name of the folder.
