Press "escape"
Press Right arrow til display says "setup"
press "enter"
Display now says "supply"
press "enter"
right arrow til you see "speed"
press enter
adjust print speed IPS is "inches per second"
press enter after you change speed. hit escape key 3-4 times, then enter - you should see "print mode ready

If speed doesnt change it could be because the print speed is set by the software OR by the type of barcode you are printing. Serial barcodes default to 2.5 ips.

Change head temperature paxar 9820

There is a small shaft on the back panel of the printer, below the red/white dip switch settings. This shaft sas a slot in it. Facing the rear of the printer, turn this shaft clockwise to increase contrast.
Press PAUSE and FEED buttons on front panel AT SAME TIME to print two label test labels. One of these labels will tell you your contrast setting. I wouldn't adjust the contrast any higher than about 75 (about half way) or you're in danger of prematurely blowing your printhead. Printheads are expensive...

I have a paxar pallet label printer monash 9643 and I can't get it to print it doesn't use a thermal ribbon so what is wrong

The printer uses thermal direct labels, kind of like fax paper, where no ribbon has to be used.

That said, contact Avery Dennison, the people who purchased Paxar, and tell them that you need supplies for this printer. Their number is 1-800-543-6650. They can help you from there.

How dod you check the configuration and firmware version on the Paxar Monarch 9855?

Perform an internal diagnostics test print. I believe you can press both of the arrow buttons at the same time, and it should print out what's in the printer and how its configured. There you should find the firmware version.

How do you speed up he printing speed on a Paxar 9800/9850?

Are you printing a serial or parallel barcode? If you don't know, a serial barcode looks like a ladder as it prints out on the label. A parallel barcode looks like a picket fence. A serial barcode (ladder) prints at 2.5 ips by default. You can't increase the speed. If you're printing a parallel barcode (picket fence) you must hit "enter' once you adjust the speed setting in the printer menu. If you've done that and it still won't increase speed, then the speed is set by the software itself, and overrides any changes you make in the printer menu. The speed adjustment must then be made in the software, not the printer.

9855 ribbon take up reel not working

When you're sending data to the printer you're sending a command that is telling the printer you're NOT using a ribbon. When the printer receives the data it's shutting off the ribbon. Check your software.
You should be set for THERMAL TRANSFER.(RIBBON)
THERMAL DIRECT Means NO RIBBON
