i have something here written in big letter but dont know if that's the model number... 0001 30 B M W ... at first everything was disconnected for some reason, except the power one... i was able to turn the computer on, the thing started when my dvd drive would not read cd/dvds and i went to check if the cable was attached correctly and that took the power sw out of its place, and i didnt see where it was connected...

I have Gateway GM4019E with AMD processor and will not boot nor display CMOS information. The following diagnostics were tried.

    1. Added Video card on PCI-X slot and connected Video cable but to no avail.
    2. Pulled out any miscellaneous PCI cards to no avail.
    3. Replaced Memory Modules - no good either.
    4. Bad Bad Gateway.

Okay, so it is one ot the Intel D810-series boards of which there are three (hopefully). We need to know which one specifically so what we are looking for is an indication of whether it is the EMO, E2CB, or the E2CA3. If we can't find these, it may be that it was a custom job for another manufacturer so we may have to check other places to dig up that information since minor customizations sometimes end up with radically different locations for the various connectors.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Why are the power switch, reset switch, and other goodies NOT connected?

Did you start a repair job?

If your computer wouldn't turn on, you probably had a bad power supply.

The manufacturer and model number should be silk-screened onto the motherboard itself, generally with large characters.

Power switch not functioning ie cannot turn oPC

What is the computer manufacturer name, and model number?

It's on the back of the computer next to the Windows product key; or up on the side of the computer tower.

Armed with this information I will try get info about the motherboard, and detail a simple test; to see if the problem is the Power On switch, or the Power Supply.

Post back in a Comment.

When i play the song a massage is display that there is no mixer devies, what do i ?

drivers for your audio devices are not installed... run the driver CD that came along with the computer...It will install the devices automatically...
If you dont have the cd with you you can manually download the drivers in your computer and install them... You need to know the make and model number of your motherboard for downloading the drivers... (it will be printed in the motherboard itself)...

I have lost the installer cd and i dont know my driver type.

HI:
You didn't share with us what the model of your motherboard is, but here are some tips:

If you have a store bought computer, you can go to the manufactures web site, and they all have a support/drivers page to download drivers.

If you have a custom computer, then you need to find the motherboard model number, and go from there.
MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte, for example, all have a website to download drivers from.

You need to do your homework, and have either the model number or service tag of your computer, or the model number of your motherboard.

I dont my mother board

Is this motherboard in a working computer, and is internet capable?
(One never assumes, as the person asking the question, may be using another computer to post the question)

If so, I suggest going to CPUID.com, and download CPU-Z. (It's free)
CPU-Z will tell you all about,

1.Mainboard, (Motherboard): Who makes it, what model number it is, what processor socket it has, what motherboard chipset it uses, what integrated audio, (Sound), what integrated graphics, (Video) (Unless it doesn't have integrated video, and relies on a graphics card), and so on.

2.Ram memory: How many ram slots it has, what ram slots are being used, what ram type it uses, what ram 'speed' it uses, and so on.

3.Processor: What processor is installed, who made it, and what model number, what the Front Side Bus is, (FSB), what the internal clock is, and so on.

Finding the motherboard manufacturers name, and the model number, you go online to the motherboard manufacturers website, go to Support, and type the model number in. This will take you to a Support page for that motherboard. There you will find a CPU Support List, (Processor), plus what the Maximum TOTAL Amount of ram is, and what the Maximum Amount for EACH ram slot is, plus a host of other info.

You can also try downloading Belarc Advisor.

If the motherboard is in your hand, look on the motherboard, and see if you can see the motherboard manufacturers name.
(Examples: Asus, AsRock, Chaintech, Gigabyte, Intel, MicroStar International Inc.,(MSI), ECS, Evga, PNY, PCchips, and so on.

Look for the model number on the motherboard. It may be in-between the expansion slots, near the edge of the motherboard, or in the middle.

If this is a motherboard that came out of an HP, or Compaq computer, things gets a little tougher. Post back here with the computer name and model number.
It's on the back of a desktop computer, right next to the Windows Product Key, or up on the side of the tower.

For a laptop it's on the bottom. It may be in a Service Tag.
