    Hello?

All it has is full, zoom, 4:3 and just

  • Don Apr 12, 2009

Also is there a way to reset the TV back to factory settings?

  • Don Apr 12, 2009

Its the same even with component cables. In 4:3 its ok. What it is, is the red on the sides is showing a little bit under text. When watching TV the shows are not to noticeable but if you are viewing words/text on the sides the red is off set. I tried to adjust the convergence but it will not adjust with out the mid to center blurring out. When i adjust the sides (red) to align up it doesn't move strait up and down but more of a bowing effect. That is why I can not get the sides to align. If it would not bow during adjustment it would be fine. I hope i explained this good enough and thank you for your time!

Still having the same problem. What it is is the sides have the red showing as out of alignment, If I adjust the sides the center goes out of alignment. Could this be the IC's and if so which ones do I need to replace? Part numbers of the IC's I mean?

    Thanks

With projection sets, there is typically several settings for which you can display an output. You probably have a "wide" or "stretch" as a setting for the tv. What you want is normal, or some setting which doesn't result in a stretch. Widescreen projection tv's try to stretch 4:3 output into the widescreen setting, but usually this just results in the middle being in focus, and the outer 20% to be stretched on each side, bluring the edges.

Try to manipulate as many "tv settings" as possible. For most sets this is only available with the original remote. If you don't have the original remote, changing these settings could prove difficult.

Reseting it to default settings should be located in the menu, most likely under an "advanced" menu or in the picture settings itself as "return to default".
As for there being "full" "zoom" and 4:3. You would do best to set "non" HD feeds on either 4:3 or full. If you cannot stand the blur switch to 4:3 or switch your whole set up to "Component Cables" similar to RCA cables but for three colors. Alternatively, it may be stuck in a mode you cannot get it out of, through a particular cable box, connecting cables, and TV set up. Changing your connection from RCA to S-video, or RCA to component may allow you to select a different TV "mode".

    Well,
I was hoping its an easy fix, but it seems for whatever reason the mirror or associative aiming apparatus might be out of adjustment.
One last thing. I have had a projection set that has looked horrible for a period of two weeks, and then the bulb burned out. After I replace the bulb, it worked fine. If this problem has just surfaced, you may just be experiencing a dying bulb, and just need to wait for it to burn out.

The colors on my tv doesn't line up right. It has a 3D look and i tried to converge it. It will not let me do it. Its a panasonic HDTV PT-47WX42, PT-47WX52, PT-53WX42, PT-53WX52, PT-56WX42, PT-56WX52

set uses two of the STK-392-110 chips for convergence.

Both will have to be replaced.

I have start to finish step by step instructions for this repair based on me doing it in hundreds of these sets.

If you want the instructions, do you have a email?

I have a Panasonic PT-53WX54J that will not Converge

you need to replace or have professional convergence amplifiiers. If know how to desolder and solder you could repair yourself or in home professional tv repairperson will cost you $275-$400. The convergence adjustments via remote are half the battle the IC's loose clarity over time.

Convergence problem not fixed after replacing STKs

I found the chips easy to replace, but time-comsuming due to the number of pins involved. I woudn't want to try it if I'd not had prior experience with soldering.

Still no response to the original question though. With 2 replaced STK392s, red is still not moving in horizontal alignment. What gives?
