Sony dvp ns50p dvd player

I have a newer tv and the DVD player use to play in color..now it only shows the Movie in Black and White

    on and off button will not power up DVD player only remote

    The dvd(movie)is in color but when it starts to play, it is in black and white. Menu for dvd player is also displayed in black and white. HELP!

If you are using the s-video jack to connect the DVD to the TV, the jack could be loose or the wire could be bad. The s-video cable has 2 signals, the black-and-white (luminance) and the color (chroma). If the chroma signal is not getting through, the picture will be in black and white.

How do i get my sons dvd player in color. it plays every movie in black and white
Make sure the connection to the TV is correct. Yellow(video) jack from the DVD player will go to yellow jack of the TV, white to white(audioL) and red to red(audioR) for compsite audio/video connection. Red to red, green to green and blue to blue for component connection.

You need to convert avi files to dvd format before burning, otherwise the player won't recognize them. Google "avi to dvd" and you'll find a number of free or pay programs that will do the conversion for you.

Only black and white
If you are playing different region dvds, they can be of different color formats also
(US = NTSC, Europe = PAL). If your television is not multi-format then non-compatible
DVDs will play black and white. The solution is to purchase a mutli-format TV (accepts
both PAL and NTSC formats)

U must be using an old tv with only PAL color system. DVDs are in different color coding. Try using a PAL converter it will solve ur problem
