Transfer from DIgital camera to Share station not working

I got a new JVC Digital Camcorder model GZMG130US and a JVC Everio SHare station Model CUVD20 and when I go to transfer it starts to transfer and after a couple of minutes it says to install a different disk. Looking for a solution to this. Also borrowed a friends camera which is the same type but different model and it also does the same error. Scott

I have the same problem and my videos are not 2 hours in length. Most are 20 to 30 minutes. No matter what kind of disc I put in the burner, it somes back to say incompatible disk. I returned the burner earlier this year because I had one that did the same thing. Now my new one is doing it. I think it is a faulty product.

I bought the same JVC camera and Everio Share Station burner (twice). The camera works fine (takes great video). The first share station I tried to burn a DVD kept giving an "incompatible disc" error no matter what brand or type I used. I was using DVD-R discs as stipulated in both the camera and burner literature. It gave me the same message when I used the JVC DVD-R disc that came with the burner. After 30 minutes on hold with JVC help line, the guy told me I had to ship the unit back (this was brand new out of the box!). I took it back to Best Buy and they exchanged it for another one. I brought this one home and hooked it up. This one recognized the disc and began to burn it for a few seconds, but then stopped and gave me a message that said "formatting problem"...."change disc". I tried again with several brands of discs and got the same outcome each time. I was only attempting to burn one scene from the camera. It said it would take 8 minutes to burn, so it's not that big a file. Do I have to take this back again. All I want is to copy some sports stuff of my kids to send to grandparents! Any solutions??

I am trying to burn only 4 minutes onto a DVD. I have tried 6 times with 2 different DVD-R brands and keep getting the same message to put in a new disc.

These units will ONLY use DVD-R discs. If you try anything else, you will get a disc error message or the burning process will halt, resulting in yet another coaster. (Personally, I like to fling my coasters around the room. My cats love chasing them! LOL) I have found that if I use 'cheaper' discs, I do not have this problem. I bought a pack of 100 DVD-R discs that were a no-name brand off of eBay and haven't had a problem. For some reason, the more expensive the disc, the more problems I had. Try that and see if it works.

It looks like whatever you're trying to transfer over it may be to big and it needs a lot of space. Check this: a blank DVD-+R can hold up to 2 hours of video so if you have 3 hours worth of video the driver will divide your video on two or more DVDs depending on the quality. Now make sure the DVDs you're trying are supported by the driver you have, so if you're using a blank DVD+R,RW it looks like is not supported by the burner check the specs.

I am having the same problem, though I've had the unit JVC Everio Share Station for 2 years. It has worked perfectly using both Memorex and JVC -R discs, 16x. Now suddenly it is unable to write to these discs. Has it reached the end of its life? :-(

JVC Everio Camcorder with JVC Share Station - NOT using PC

well better is PC
when you can master any thing you want
what you have there is 2 custom JVC devices,
one or the other are bad or the cables.
most parts will be used so pig a poke sack roll dice good or bad.
why do that at all,.
get the PC to save videos.
or get a better camcorder like camcorder HDD./
like pros use. but still made cheap for consumer
canon
VIXIA HF R800
https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/buying-guides/best-camcorder

hdd versions or SD versions
make sure the SD can also be use easy on a PC.
the burn DVD with any PC made or DVD burner added
and use free burn app, called Imgburn. free and safe.
best is on PC so it has a future and if parts break super easy to fix. like any good desktop or Dell 3020MT with dvd burner
and DVD-R is the bestmedia, try TDK?

I am making discs using the everio share station. Even though I have the date showing when I play it through the camera, it does not show up when I play the disc back. How do I get that to work?

unfortunately, with everio share station will not allow you to do it that way. You really, absolutely need the date and time on the video, you will have to capture the date and time with another device. For example, the one touch video capture vc500 will do that for you. To my knowledge, there are no software out there that can capture date and time at the moment.

I have a jvc everio share station cd-v3 dvd burner but when using

Try burning a copy that is recorded at a regular resolution. I think the hd 300 records at its highest setting in blue ray quality. Try something like SD mode. If yours has it. I have a jvc hd camera and its set up this way. Hope this helps.

Share station says incompatible disk

The Everio ONLY accepts DVD-R discs, nothing else. I do not know why. I use the cheapest discs that I can find as I have found through the years that they work the best. I have had my Share Station for about 3 years and it works great.
