Add bitcommet to windows firewall exceptions list

if that doesn't help, you need to open appropriate port in your router/modem

Bitcomet listen port is blocked

Hello,
You need to forward the specific port bit comet uses to listen,in your
router. To do this follow the below steps.

1) Go to this page http://portforward.com/
2) Scroll down the page and search for your modem/Router and
click on it.
3) Select the aplication from the list,in this case Bitcomet.
4) Now follow the step-by-step guide on this page to successfully forward your bit comet port.
Once you have done that restart your bitcomet and the listen port should now turn green indicating that it is open and functioning properly.Hope it helped.

The listen port is blocked for my bitcomet program, can anyone help me to unblock this listen port?

You will have to go into Windows firewall or your anti-virus firewall settings and open the port for the program. You can assign a port number for a specific program. You may also need to open the port on your router settings if it is blocking the port needed for the software.

Need a port opened to speed up downloads

Hi. It really depends on what type of modem or router you are using to open up ports. Also if you are using an application for downloading such as Bitcomet, you need to find out what port or listening port is currently configured on Bitcomet. for example, the listening port on Bitcomet is 4545, then you have to open port 4545 on your router or modem.

You also need to make sure that your modem or router has port forwarding features..

you may also visit this link for instructions on how to forward or open ports to different types of routers...

Listenning port bit comet

BitComet requires you to be able to receive incoming connections. If you're behind a NAT router but don't have port forwarding configured properly, incoming connections will be stopped by your router (won't get to your computer). You need to configure port forwarding, so your router knows that the incoming connections are for BitComet and will be allowed through (= forwarded) to your computer.

There are several versions of your router:
DSL-2640B, DSL-2640Bv2,...
Go here, scroll (almost all the way down) and find your router model.
On the next page, skip the advertisement (upper right corner) and look for BitComet.
Simply follow the instructions on that page - they are precise and correct.

In general: You can use ANY port, but I would prefer a listen port between 49152 and 65534 because they're classed as "Dynamic and/or Private Ports" by IANA, so nothing else should be using them by default and they're not the standard ones blocked by ISP's or trackers, but - as I said - you can enter any other port you wish.

If you have any more questions, just come back and let me know - I'm happy to help.

Good luck & thanks for rating!
