I tried to load an Adobe Flash Player 9 image into Photoshop 6.0, after that Photoshop won't open, I also have Adobe Illistrator 9.0 it opens OK, can anyone out there help me.
You need to delete the PS Preferences file (Adobe Photoshop 6 Prefs). It will be re-created when you restart Photoshop.
# Windows 2000: Documents and Settings\
The preferences in XP can be found in explorer at the following address: (I'm using PS 7.0, but the path should be the same).
C:\Documents and Settings\Hugh\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings
Open My Computer, then drill down to the above folder, using your user name and PS 6.0. When you see the prefs file, just right-click it and select "delete". (PS must be closed when you do this.)
Open PS and the prefs file will be re-created.
I prefer to do this using Explorer:
Right-click the Start button, select "Explore".
You should see the Documents and Settings folder on the right-Just select the subfolders as shown above until you arrive at Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings.
Most people don't understand the Windows file system, so don't feel badly. It's actually relatively simple, so spend some time with it when you have a chance, and your computing experience will be greatly improved.
