I would look up "series" and "parallel" wiring on the net. Parallel will lower your ohms, which is good- especially for you since your amp is 1ohm. use 1 channel of your amp (unbridged...bridging an amp could increase output, but will Raise the ohms) connect the positive terminal with a wire that goes to the positive on your first sub, and from there, connect a wire from that same positive terminal to the positive terminal on your second sub. do the same thing with the neg. wire. This is called parallel wiring.

Hi anybody knows how to wire Orion H2 12.2 to 1ohm? I got Audiobahn A2x400HQ amplifier 1600w rms on 1 ohm

to drop the amp load to 1 ohm you need to divide the output signal path and the best way is by wiring a second woofer in parallel as seen in the ideal diagram attached this has the desired effect of doubling the volume .
since 2 ohm divided by 2 is 1 ohm load connected to your amp.
so the short answer is no you can't do that with a single woofer

Got 2 woofers, 2ohm stable each. If I get 1ohm stable monoblock amp, will it split that 1ohm equally in 2ohms for each speaker, or would I have to buy another 2 speakers that r 1ohm stable each?

Connecting the two 2 ohm speakers in parallel will create a 1 ohm load. Connect the positives of both speakers to the plus output of the amp, both negatives of the speakers to the minus output of the amp.

What's the best way to hook up my jl audio 13" w 7 sub to my jl audio 1000/1 amp

the best way? hmm. i would start off with some wire. Keep in mind that you will need to separate the positive (usually red or has a stripe or marking on it) from the negative (Black usually is the common color for this wire) and hook the up according to your amps positive and negative hook ups / terminals following your sub-woofers terminals. then depending on your sub woofers Voice coils (Duel or single voice coils) yours are duel or quad coils but i\'m sure they are duel (2 of each positive and negative equaling a total of 4 posts on each sub-woofer). figure out your amps ohm load handling and does your amp run hot (1,2 or 4 ohm stable some are even less like 0.5 or lower) i would run at a 1 or 2 ohm load as that is usually standard on 1 channel amps. make sure to check your wiring and if your not sure about ohm loads just Google wiring for sub-woofer ohm loads such as 0.5 ohm, 1 ohm, 2 ohm or 4 ohm loads. also make sure your box is not sealed do to the fact they are siht and cant produce sound like a vented / ported enclosure keep the size as big as you can fit in your car or truck the bigger the better. i had one 8\'\' sony sub pounding like a 15\'\' sub real loud . Also MDF particle board is garbage it causes port noise and absorbs water

Whats the best way to hook up my L7 10''

Hello ereza25,

The best way depends on what amp you are using to power the sub. With dual 2ohm voice coils, you can wire to either a 1ohm or a 4ohm final load. If you are sure that your amp is stable down to 1ohm, that wiring will provide the best power to the sub. But if the amp is not rated at 1ohm (many aren't), then the 1ohm wiring will result in overheating and possible damage to your amp.

The wiring diagrams are here. Hope this helps.

Subwoofer Dual voicecoil wiring

1 ohm will draw too much current.those are designed for a 2 channel 2 ohm drive for each sub.running 4 ohms will be easier on the amplifier and since impedance is not constant it may run 3 ohms at some frequencies anyway. another solution if your power amp is bridgeable....put the coils in series on each woofer making 4 ohms.then parallel the two 4 ohms to make 2 ohms and run the amp in bridge mode at 2 ohms.since bass is omnidirectional, you can do it

Wireing diagrams

Hello stingerman20,

Your Directed D2400 amp is CEA2006 Compliant. It is stable at 1ohm and will produce 1,200 watts into that load. So you want your subs wired as close to 1 ohm as possible.

The only 3500 watt Pioneer Premier series subs I could find were the models number TS-W3002D2 and TS-W3002D4 with dual 2ohm and dual 4ohm voice coils respectively. The wiring options for the D2's result in 0.5ohm (too low), 2 ohms, and 8ohms. Your best option would be the 2ohm configuration which would be voice coils in series and subs in parallel. Options for the D4's result in a 1ohm load and a 4ohm load. Your best option would be the 1ohm configuration which would be voice coils and subs parallel.

To see the wiring options, try Rockford-Fosgate's "wiring wizard".
Select 2 woofers and the appropriate voice coil impedance and quantity and click "search". It'll bring up all of the possible wiring configurations along with the final impedance load.

Hope this helps.

DONT KNOW HOW TO RUN 2 OHMS

Hello storres18,

If you have the Kicker model number 06CVX122, with dual 2ohm voice coils, they can be connected to a mono amp at 2ohms. First jumper the voice coils in series, the dotted positive (+) to the undotted negative (-) (or vice versa). Each sub is now 4ohms. Then wire both of the remaining positives and negatives together on the amp terminals (in parallel). The amp sees a 2ohm load. Here's the diagram:

8863dd7.gif
If you have the Kicker model number 06CVX124 with dual 4ohm voice coils, they cannot be wired to present a 2ohm load. They can only be wired as a 1ohm load (too low for the amp) or as a 4ohm load (at reduced power). Here is the diagram of the 4ohm wiring:

Hope this helps.

Need wireing diagram for hooking up two as12sq 12-inch square 2

you can run each sub at either 4ohms or 1ohm which means that two of them will run at either 2ohms or .5ohms....be careful how you wire them because most amps cannot handle .5ohms very well and might blow.....to wire them for 2ohms you will need to wire each sub the following way. they have two voice coils make a jumper wire connecting the negative on one coil to the positive on the other coil. what you are left with is a coil with an open positive and the other coil has an open negative. when both subs are wired like this connect the two positive terminals together (1 from each sub) and the two negative terminals together (1 from each sub) now the subs should be wired together at a 2ohm load. run the two positive wires into another combined wire which will run to the positive speaker terminal on the amp. do the same for the negatives

Directed 1100d is it 1 ohm stable?

I don't know how you are coming up with a total load of 1 ohm , but if you do manage to hook that amp to a 1 ohm load you will almost certainly blow that amp. Good luck and please don't forget to rate this answer.Thanks.
