Unfortunately, you may not be able to do this. Most remote controls only have the codes for devices released about 6 months before the remote was programmed. The KV-27FV300 manual has a copyright date of 2002. Thus its remote codes are for devices made in 2001 or earlier. The DV220MW9 was built around 2009; so a universal replacement remote is probably more likely to work.

To program the remote for the KV-27FV300, press Code Set (bottom left of the remote, below the volume +/- keys). Press the VCR/DVD function button. Press the number keys for the 3 digit code for the device manufacturer. Press Enter to save the code. Then test the code to see if it allows the remote to correctly control the VCR/DVD. The DV220MW9 has built by Funai with the Magnavox name plate. There are only Funai and Magnavox VCR codes in the TV manual. Funai: 338, Magnavox 308, 309, 310 .

Did you change the inputs on your tv to match where you are hooked into?

been there... time better spent driving to walmart/target/sears and buying a name brand univerasal remote and saving your self 5 hours and lot of aggervation this is coming from someone who like yourself who refuses to give in GOOD LUCK

Concerning the Magnavox DV220MW9 VCR/DVD deck:
It can can only play DVDs, it can not record DVD them.
It can only record VHS tapes.

Try to Google for this or try the major sellers on the internet. In this case MCM Electronics or Suburban Electronics both of whom have internet sites and catalogs as well as toll free phone numbers.

Someone will have to open the unit to see what is happening---either tape is not loading all the way or when FF or Rewind hit not moving the reels----could be as simple as a belt or a bad drive idler (most use either a rubber wheel or gears to move the tape in Play, FF, and Rewind.
