I have tried to fix problem through control panel (using adapter settings, frequency changing, hp display assistance and through graphic card menu ) and nothing can help- screen is blinking and while downloading PC on the screen appears that monitor is working with resolution 640* 480 and frequency less than 60. Could anybody help me to solve this problem, please?
Well , did you read the rules on the monitor for
resolution? 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz
and that this OLD MON. has CCFF back lamps that can fail in 20,000 hours use! its not LED so they fail early.
dim , blink or just go dead. all do that and fast....
why not upgrade, to LED< be best. for sure.
no CCFL has future, now, they are too old now.
and spending $50 to fix a old CCFL mon.
when we can buy a new one for $50 , is well, good money after bad.
does the monitor run on any other PC OK? I bet not.
the only clue for sumptoms above is BLINK
I cant see that do that so can tell you any thing....
shine flash light in the face screen yet
to see if BLINK is , Backlight dead, or DATA DEAD.?

The auto dimming circuit on the ccfl inverter is out. Replace the inverter and it should cure your problem. Seek adult supervision for this repair. Do not try it by yourself.

SOURCE: Power Light Blinking & Black Screen
A blinking blue light indiactes that your power-inverter board is not
putting out what it should. It needs an overhaul which may be a simple
as changing out the capacitors on the boards.
It could go beyong that to transistors or even a bad bulb.
It will have to be opened up to do that.
A picture may show visual signs of damage. If you can take one and email it to me , I'll take a look.

you first install the audio drivers if the problem persists then attach AGP card then increase resolution and pc will ask question do you want to keep these settings say yes then you can see 1280x1024

Check Dell's Website for video drivers for your system.
