White screen when I turn the camera on

Hi, camera working fine this morning. Topped up the charge on the battery becuse I am taking it away this weekend and when I turned it on to check it the screen showed just plain white (not black with the normal 'cyber-shot' logo. there are sone small coloured lines at the bottom of the screen.....I am worried the screen is now broken. It continues to take pictures (I have checked this by taking some and uploaded them onto the computer) but I cannot view them through the viewer screen. Please advise next possible course of action. The camera was bought in the USA but was a gift and i live in the UK- does anyone know any sony service center phone numbers in the UK? Will my warranty cover me in the UK? Thank you very much for your help!

My camera was fully charged and 2 days later when I went to use it the screen was white with small colored lines at the top of the screen. I cannot remember anything out of the ordinary happening to the camera. Help!

P100 was working took 1 picture and froze open. white screen won't charge

Perhaps you have an empty battery?
Just remove the battery and try charging it on an external charger. When it is charged, try again. The camera should start with retracting the lens. Perhaps you again should power down and remove the battery for a few seconds after that, but just try it.
Switching of a camera causes it to start again, like a cold boot from a computer.
Monitor your battery, because if the camera shuts down very soon after that, perhaps you need a new battery?

White Screen

Hi,

Normally there are two reasons for the given problem.

1). Bad or defective CCD. and/or

2). shutter not working.

in the first case the only solution is the replacement of the CCD.
Please click HERE

And in the later case sticking of shutter blade, non functioning of shutter blade will cause the problem. This can be rectified by sending it to some repairer.

I hope you are satisfied with my solution..

Goodluck..

Flashing orange triangle on usb when charging. No charging taking place New battery inserted and used successfully When battery flat, problem repeated itself. Don`t know if problem is the plug charger,...

Mine did this too. It's a warning to say that your battery is faulty and needs replacing , I replaced mine and It now works fine , charges fine and operates ok. You just need to replace the SLB-10A for another battery of this kind and It should be okay. Charge it overnight and in the morning iot might be ok , if not then you have another malfuntion , so take it to the camera shop for them to check or send away to samsung for repairs.

My flip video camera froze.it wont turn on....

Have you tried resetting the camera? Hold down the power button and the red button simultaneously until the camera shuts off (takes about 10 seconds). Then, just press the power button again and the camera should turn back on. I had the same problem; when I pressed the red button to stop recording, the camera froze, and the red light remained on. I tried resetting it like this, and it seemed to work.

Sony cybershot 4.1 DSC-P43

Hi
I bought a new 1MB memory card for this camera and was dismayed to find that the screen went completely blank - I couldn't do anything!!!! It was my sons graduation so had to buy another camera!
But, have just resolved this issue by pressing the bottom right-hand side of the screen with a rubber topped pencil - it works!!!!
This camera may be old and chunky but it still takes amazing pictures.
Hope it works for you too.

White Screen

I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!
