Most likely is your Internet connection.

Could you post more details?

Just from the description, your Internet connection to YouTube servers may be slow, which can be a) your actual Internet connection speed or b) YouTube servers, which COULD be bogged down by activity (slightly unlikely, but it could happen).

The problem will go away either on its own or if you get a faster Internet speed service. You are most definitely going to experience this if you are trying to access content using dial-up, but you may also experience this with higher speeds and trying to access HD content (which is much more data to receive).

SOURCE: video buffering

You need a faster internet connection.

If you are using wireless try connecting your laptop directly to your wireless router using a network cable, if the video's are not OK then you may have issues with your wireless. Could be interference or signal issues.

If it's still slow with the wired connection then you may just have a slow connection.

If you are on dial-up then forget about it.

It may help to ensure that you have an updated flash plug-in, visit http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and upgrade if needed.

Video over the internet requires quite a bit of bandwidth so if your connection is slow or congested then it will have to buffer more. I don't beleive you have a problem with your computer, it's just having a hard time getting enough data to play the video's smoothly.

SOURCE: Long time buffering videos; video streams freeze

If a streaming video takes a long time buffering from Youtube or another website, it's because your internet connection is slow. If your video freezes up and jitters, that might be your internet connection and/or the video card is working too hard.

Go to this website and run the speed test for the city closest to you and let us know what your connection speeds are (download/upload). This will help us determine if the problem is the internet connection speed or something else:

Try to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player Active X and Plug in and then reinstall it as there could be traces of previous versions in the computer which are interfering and making it difficult for the browsers to properly display videos on your computer. You can do this from the computer user settings and manipulating the "Add/Remove" programs list.
-- Try to use Flash Player 9 is your Flash Player 10 is not working fine. You can simply download it from the Adobe web site.
-- Update the drivers, the link is given below which would ask you to download the file through internet and run it on your computer.
-- The problem behind the Shockwave Flash crash could be your sound drivers. Follow these steps:
1) Open Device Manager 2) Look for the sound-card device 3) Note down the name for that device 4) Just uninstall the it. 5) After uninstalling restart your machine. 6) Your Windows 7 or Windows Vista would automatically download and reinstall the sound driver. You can also do it manually through approaching the sound card company's web site.
-- Fix your Windows Registry which is a highly recommended thing you should do to find a quick and reliable fix for common PC errors and crashes.use registry cleaner reg in out

Stop buffering/flickering when watching a video

Unless the device you are watching the video on is from the stone age, most equipment today is more than capable of streaming video. That said, the most common causes of video buffering/flickering are:

  1. Slow internet connection speed. DIal-up, DSL, and most of the lowest tier cable speed rates often cannot handle video streaming.
  2. Time of day. Watching video streams from places like Youtube during peak internet hours in your area will often cause buffering issues due to high demand on ISP bandwidth.
  3. Too many apps running/not enough memory available for the viewer app.

How to stop videos from buffering all the time? I also do not want to download the video. If I wanted to download it wouldn't.I don't know why but it wouldn't. Do you have any other suggestions on how to...

Buffering of video while watching a stream can normally be down to Three things.
1) Your Broadband Speed is not high enough.
2) The Stream suppliers' servers cannot cope with the load on them. and only send the video in 'lumps' so to speak.
3) Your Device is not able to process the Video fast enough to display correctly.

If , for example you are getting buffering on Youtube video, then it is almost definitely YOUR Broadband speed.

The best way to watch is by downloading the WHOLE video and storing it on your machine so that it will not need to buffer.

You will have to speak to the individual video companies about the ability to download instead of just watching. It is normally a Legal Copyright issue.

Why doe's my videos stop play and buffing can't seem a videos

This is because you have already seen all of the video that is in the computer's memory up to the place it stops. It is waiting for more video to arrive at your computer. It stores a limited time of the movie in advance before it will play it - this stored in the buffer, and 'buffering' is the process of filling that buffer with video. This may occur because your internet connection is slow (do a speed test), because of where you live or there are many people nearby using the internet, or that the transmitting server is slow (e.g., too many people using it, watching videos), or even because your computer is very low on memory.
I would welcome any corrections to what I've written.

I just bought this laptop yesterday, and ever since then every time i play download a movie or watch a video on you tube it stops and plays, stops and plays. what do i do?

Hello

OK, this does not have any thing to do with your laptop itself. This is actually due to your internet connection. The videos will stop an play if they are buffered far enough, hence, if the video plays faster than it can buffer, it will stop until is is buffered far enough.

The solution for this problem can be to upgrade your internet connection.

Hope this can be of help, if this was nor what you were looking for, let me know so we can try something else.

Kind regards
Andrea
