Can the TV be replaced? Certainly. Stores are full of replacement TV's.

Can the parts in yours that are smoking be replaced? Possibly. Some parts are generic and can be found at companies that sell TV repair parts. But other parts have to come from the manufacturer, and they are not always available or are too expensive to make the repair worthwhile.

Should you get this TV repaired? It depends on what kind of a TV it is (you didn't give a make or model), its age, how much damage was done by the parts that smoked, and what it would cost to repair compared to replacement.

The best solution is to have a TV technician check the set and give an estimate if it's a large-screen or otherwise costly model (or you just really want to keep the set). Or use this opportunity to replace the set if the difference in price is small.

1998 astra car is smoking on accelaration

It's time for an engine rebuild. Or you could get a reconditioned engine installed. All depends, if the car is in good condition and worth fixing. But it is a 15 year old car. Might be time to upgrade.

The tv started smoking the smoke was coming up the screen on the inside and now it doesn't come on at all I opened it in the bottum front and its a white coil pack looking component that's burned out that...

Any set that starts smoking is a fire hazard, buy a new TV instead of possibly burning your house down, parts shouldn't burn up in a TV, thats what fuses and such are for

Won't pull in dirt

you need to change belt on brush and also check for locked up bearings on brush roller and or debris lodged between brush and guard dislodge if need be or replace bearings on brush roller if they are bad

Smoking out the back and burning smell inside.

check for a cracked head that smoke you see is probably antifreeze coming out of the coolant trench in the block itself or could just be a bad gasket on your head

Smoking

Couple things I would look for first the condition of the blade do you see any buildup around the teeth like something has burnt on it. Also look into the area around the blade under the table (unplug saw first) to make sure that something hasn't dropped into it rubbing blade causing smoke. Also turn the blade by hand to make sure turning freely. The smoke could possibly be coming from a bearing. If it less than a year old Bosch has a pretty good warranty and you might look into that also. Let me know and I will dig deeper into it.

TV shuts off by itself and has a burning smell

mine is doing the same thing but i was able to pinpoint it to a capacitor arching and smoking. haven't replaced it yet so i'm not sure if it's just a bad capacitor or a more involved issue.

Sony model KP-41T65 no power, smoking

Hello All,

The component you are talking about is not a diode, it is a capacitor, and if it is burning it has shorted, which means that it needs to be replaced. You will need a schematic and a multimeter. Now since you all thought that this component was anything but a capacitor, I would not suggest that you attempt repairs on your own, because this section is dangerous, and can kill you if you are not careful. I would suggest that all of you get a qualified TV technician to examine your sets and affect repairs on it.

I hope this helps,
Thank you,
