First Open Adobe Photoshop CS3
Go to the top left and click on "File"
Create New.....
Make a new canvas and the "Tools Bar" will be on the left and you will find the "Brush Tool" and many other tools here. You will use this to make random things or edit photos.
To put a photo on the Canvas which is the white, or black and white checkered board thing in the middle of the screen, all you need to do is drag a photo onto it or go to File, Import, and it should say either Picture or Image or something of that sort. Then it will appear on the canvas.
If you need any editing tips just ask :)

If the yellow tint is uniformly over the whole screen then try changing the video colour tint, hue, phase and other chroma related settings in the menu.

Not sure what you mean by compatible. InDesign CS3 can place images created/edited in Photoshop CS2.

Open Photoshop and choose Image/Adjustments. Now you can change the Hue/Saturation colour mix etc. Have Fun and Happy New Year

Quick version--open photoshop select --edit->color preferences, and make sure that adobe RGB(1998), or sRGB IEC61966-2.1 is selected. If this doesn't help please let me know

Many photo editing programs can apply "effects", such as sepia, "stained glass", water color etc. See if the editing programs you have access to can create this effect.

Programs such as Adobe Fireworks or Photoshop have these capabilities.

Perhaps just turning off the color will give you what you're looking for, but you may lose the detail in your photo.

Check with your University IT department to see what photo editing software is supported, or talk to someone in the Art department.

The paper you print on is not relevant. What happens is the green tint is the actual printer delivering all the colours to give a 'composite' black. On shiny photo paper this is emphasized where as on plain paper the colour is absorbed and shows as intended. So what can you do? Move away from black and go for a tint such as sepia.
