SOURCE: my blender's jar is broken, i want a new one

You might need to order one from the UK and pay delivery charges? I am based in the UK and it is tricky finding this part, but I think possible. I smashed my blender measuring jug this morning and I hope I can get a new one at [email protected] - just placed an order. You don't mention a model of yours but the one I found is compatible with several makes - check out this link http://www.viewpointdirect.co.uk/philips-measuring-jug---for-use-with-hand-blenders-573-p.asp. They deliver worldwide for a reasonably high charge. Else there are some other jugs you can find, without pictures though, which might be compatible with your make, at http://www.buyspares.co.uk. Good luck!

SOURCE: Philips Hand blender

My wife picked ours up at a rummage sale, and we've grown to love the little thing for making single servings of banana milk shake. (half a frozen banana, cover with milk, a drop of vanilla, and about one minute with the hand blender blade!) When my youngest boys dropped ours, I gathered up the pieces of plastic that connect the attachments to the motor shaft, and carefully super glued them together. I then wrapped the plastic piece with fine nylon thread and a thin layer of super glue and placed it back onto the motor shaft, then let it sit for 24 hours. It is now permanently attached to the motor shaft and good to go. Too bad Philips doesn't care enough to support their customers with a part their engineers designed to break and save the rest of the product. I'll remember this about Philips products when I buy an HDTV.

Good question! There is usually one screw under a label on the unit. After this screw is removed, the case can be squeezed, slid up or down or gently twisted side to side to open it. Each unit is different. I do not know this model specifically. Some cases ARE glued together and cannot be opened without breaking them.

How can I change the blade for my 2 speed hand mixer? The model type is NC-12 if you need to know

you are using your KitchenAid blender and it stops blending, you may think there is a problem with the motor in your machine. However, a common reason for the blades not rotating in the blender is a dirty or faulty coupler. The coupler is what connects your blender dispenser to the motor, and you can easily replace the coupler at any time by only using a screwdriver.
Things You'll Need
  • Flat-blade screwdriver
    • 1 Turn the blender dispenser clockwise and lift up to remove it. Set the blender dispenser aside.
    • 2 Insert a flat-blade screwdriver between the black drive coupler and the frame of the blender on the top center portion of the blender.
    • 3 Lift the screwdriver upward, and the coupler will start to bend out of place. Slightly turn the coupler and then lift up on the screwdriver again.
    • 4 Continue to move the coupler slightly and lift the screwdriver until the coupler is completely removed.
    • 5 Insert the new coupler over the blender's motor blade and then twist the coupler counter-clockwise until it is tightly fastened.

Replacing rubber drive coupling

My coupler was split in two, and I couldn't screw it off. I had to do the following:
1. Take the blender apart (mine had 2 screws on the bottom). 2. Remove the motor housing from the blender (mine was loose from removing the two screws earlier). 3. Remove the fan by removing the fan nut. 4. Take apart the motor housing. Mine had two machine screws with 1/4" hex heads holding a bracket that tied the two ends together. Once those two screws are removed, you can take the motor out of the housing. Be careful on the fan end of the motor, because it's got two spring loaded brushes that will come together once the motor is pulled through. 6. Once you have the motor out of the housing, you'll have something to grab onto so you'll be able to unscrew the broken coupler. I used a pair of channel locks and gently grasped the motor body, and then just used a regular pair of pliers to grab the broken coupler. It's regular thread (lefty lucy righty tighty), so twist accordingly.
Once you have the coupler off, just put everything back together. The hardest part is holding apart the spring loaded brushes while you push the fan end of the motor shaft back through the motor housing.
Took me about 20 minutes to do everything.
Good luck.
