One day the TV stopped turning on. We discovered that if we press power, about 2 min later it turns on but there is no sound or picture. Any ideas?

Sound goes off after 15 Min

Assuming it is not hardware but soft settings...
1) Check and make sure that your TV does not have the timer set.
The Timer feature allows you to set a day and time for the TV to turn on automatically and the device and channel to display when it switches on. If the TV is already on at the requested time, the TV automatically tunes to the channel you designated in the Timer menu.
When the Timer turns on the TV, the following message is displayed: "Press a button for the TV to stay on." Press any button on the remote control within five minutes if you wish the TV to remain on.
Note: The TV clock must be set before you can use the
Timer feature (see preceding page to set the clock).
On/Off
Press down arrow / up arrow to enable or disable the Timer.
2) If not working, try SYSTEM RESET. Press SYSTEM RESET button on the front panel with pointed object (e.g. straight paperclip). TV turns off, green LED flashes for about 1 minute. When it stops flashing turn the TV on again. All settings other than Parental Lock need to be set again using the manual.
3) TV RESET. If all else fails for soft error. Your manual describes this last resort for soft type error. It could be hardware problem needing more expertise.

Sony kf 50e200a screen goes black and sound turns off for min...

TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Hard to get started when powering up to watch.

definitely, something wrong with it. TV shouldn't take more then a few seconds to start, I suggest, while it still under warranty, give Sharp a call to get it fixed.

Dead screen

this would be due to a convergence issue either in the color wheel or the ballast. It is probably a balast that will need to be replaced.

Advent Flat Screen with TV/AV Button Clicking & Lighting Intermittenly NO PICTURE

The fact that its clicking on and off tells me that theres probably a short in the horizontal sweep/output circuit of the set. You see when the set starts up the power supply detects a large current surge and shuts down. Some sets will try three times if this happens and then stop till the power is pressed again. It sounds like this set dosent have that way of operation. Its going to need a technician to look and troubleshoot the problem Good Luck
