Sharp Aquos LC-46D62U 46 in. LCD HDTV Logo

Hard to get started when powering up to watch.

Greetings. I have had this TV for about 11 months. It has always been a little difficult to get the picture to come in when initially turning the unit on.
The first time starting it up for the day goes like this:
Press POWER button.
1-2 minutes later, two green lights below the Sharp logo begin flashing. There are also intermintent clicking sounds too.
Press POWER button again and the two flashing lights stop and only the power light is on. If no picture within a couple minutes, I hold power button on the TV in until the unit powers down. I then press the power button again and the TV comes on in a minute or two usually. If not, reset again.
Sometimes when the pic. does come in, there is no sound. Turning off and back on again gets the sound to come back with the picture.
Once the TV has been on for awhile, start up even a couple hours later is pretty normal, I think.
Shortly after I bought the TV, I spoke with the salesman at Video Only that sold the TV to me and he said that these big TV take longer to start up. My son was here yesterdayand after going through the auto setup again, believes that there is something not working properly as he hasa Sharp LCD also and it isn't anything like this to get it to turn on.
If I am doing something wrong, please let me know.

Definitely, something wrong with it. TV shouldn't take more then a few seconds to start, I suggest, while it still under warranty, give Sharp a call to get it fixed.

Samsung UN46EH5000FZXA LCD TV won't power on; out of warranty, only 18 months old!

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

With anyone of these PCB # EAX61392501/7, EAX61392501/10, EAX61392501/11, or EAX61392501/12 with the parts if this kit, I've also fis several 50PK750 models, Some clients have send me their broken power supply board, so I can do the repairs. Vizio 47" 1080p PLasma Screen TV Blinks

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
