How can I get it to display the clock only when off?

I bought a used car with this infernal radio. When it is not being used, it displays the current time for a fraction of a second, then the goes into a 7 minute diatribe, telling my all about its features, an advertisement for a product I already own, when I just want to know what time it is. I do not care how many presets it has. I do not care how many bands the equalizer has. I do not care about its power setting. I just want to see the $#!%*@ clock. I do not have a manual. Please help.

  • scott nnnn Aug 01, 2007

Thanks, that seems to have done it. Now if I can get the stupid thing to not beep every time I turn the car off... (setting BEEPMODE to OFF did not seem to do the trick...) I will dive through the manual.

Download an owner's manual here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=CDXS2010&LOC=3 To turn off the demo mode, first make sure the unit is turned off and your key is on. Press and hold the SEL button until you enter the setup mode. Press and release the SEL button until you see "DEMO". Press the volume up/down buttons to turn DEMO off. Press and hold the SEL button to exit the setup menu.

Display not bright enough on Bose AWR1-1W clock radio

Yes...within a range. The display will automatically lighten and darken depending on the amount of light in the room. During the day or when there are bright lights in the room, the display will go to full brightness. When the lights go off or the room is otherwise darkened, the display will shift down to a lower brightness. You can make the "lower brightness" a bit brighter by holding down the CLOCK SET button and pressing the 'volume up' button.

2002 Jeep Liberty radio/clock display not working

If the radio works, but the display doesn't the bulb is burned out, I think removing the radio is necessary to replace it. I would see it as an excellent opportunity to upgrade sound systems and go with an aftermarket unit that will interface with your Ipod.
