DSC-T1 LCD looks like I'm looking thru night vision goggles!

Indoors, the pictures come out with a green-ish tint. Lights and bright spots appear blue, green or red.

Outdoors, the sky looks red or pink and the pictures come out solid white.

All settings are on AUTO without any effects being active. Any help would be appreciated.

My pvs7 wont stay on thay shut of after 30 seconds and then start to shut of ever few seconds

Hello, have you or someone else pointed this night vision devise at bright lights, street lights, head lights. If so, maybe the damage has/hasn't alread been done. STOP. This PVS-7 goggles with ITT image tube with generation 2 or 2+ or possibly generation 3 tube. The devise is an American made unit, and the best in the world. Nobody can compete with the USA on NV. They sat the standards on Night Vision.

Have you replace the 6 volt battery? Get the goggle in a darken room then turn the switch on.
see if the 25mm plate will turn green and stay on. But first replace that battery.
Therefore, if this test works, then never and I mean never shine NV devises into bright lights, it will destroy them every time.

PS. send me another message and let see what happen. stewbison

Looking to buy a used pair of pvs 7 nightvision goggles and owner says there are a couple of small black spots when you view is this a cause for concern and what else should i look for ?

Hello, that is normally to have some black spots. Now, if tries to tell that this Military spec. He wrong. Two black spot on any image tubes used by the US Military is rejected, they only allow one black spot and that if everything else is OK. How fuzzy is around the outer circle of the image tube. If there is a uniformed green pattern through out the scope. I would say it was OK. But remember "Buy be Aware". GB...stewbison

Purple tint

check out your scene and macro settings. If you are in macro mode (an icon that looks like a tulip), you should be no more than 2 feet away from your subject. Also if you are in the wrong mode (night mode in daylight, or bright mode indoors, for example), your colors may appear off.
Also check to see if your digital zoom is on. If it is, and you are too far from the subject, your picture can be quite grainy. This is a great effect if you want your picture to appear as if it were an impressionist painting, but not for a crisp picture or portrait.

Intermittent green tinted pictures (both indoors and outdoors)

The only recommendation is to correct the colour balance in a photo editor in your computer Come back here if you do not know about photo editing. As far as the camera is concerned there is no remedy as far as I can see -its old age time for a new one Repair is not an option.
