Can someone please tell me how to fix my tv - Televison & Video

you have no tools, no spare board inside nor skills to replace them and not get electrocuted, right>
take the TV to a TV repair shop , like everyone else does.
no model # of TV told so... that to, makes answers super hard..
let me guess the power board inside is bad, 1 of many.

Since the screen is broken, I would suggest not to even pay for best buys to come in and tell you that the price for a new screen might exceed the price of the LCD. In some cases this type of service parts might not even be available for replacement.

Dont buy VISIO. I'm having the same problem with my 42". And it also is only 3 years old.

You post on Craigslist an ad that you sell an LCD TV with broken screen; you put your initial price at $50 and you sell to the highest bidder within say a week.

Then you buy a new TV.

This is your optimal course of dealing with the situation.

Trust me if you like, I see that scenario on a weekly if not daily basis.

I have a 94 LXI, and my set has Sears on the back. I don't think they still do. (if that's what you mean by 'carry the series').

Resolder all the pinns on the FBT chances are FBT is Bad they go out alot Call UED for Parts 1-800-648-6657

Sounds like the power supply needs replacing.

TV repair is best done by a pro unless one has significant experience with it.

Had the same issue, I replaced two 1200uf caps on the power supply board and now it works fine again. Remember to replace the caps with caps rated for at least 35wvdc.

Hi . The TV that I need help fixing is not a projection TV. It's a 19" or 21" CRT television that has built in VCR. I do not have service schematics so for someone to suggest troubleshooting using schematics doesn't help me. I understood that for $10.00 someone who had repaired the same model would tell me what component they changed out to fix problem. TV is still not fixed. Its a Canadian model so its possible that this SYLVANIA model might not have been sold in other regions of the world. TV also makes slight crackling sound from speaker when you pull the plug from wall outlet.
