You need the audio driver. You didn't supply the Make, Model of laptop or the OS you are using. So, Try this first, remove all Media,DVD, CD, USB, etc. Shut down , unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot. Depending on your OS, it should ID the device and apply the correct driver. OR, do a system restore to a date before this issue. OR, Post the info about laptop and I will try to locate the driver for you

Download the drivers from the computer maker's website or do a Google search for the audio drivers for your pc make and model. Most computer makers offer free download of the drivers.

I reinstalled XP on IBM T41, now battery won't charge. Could this be Driver Problem

Sounds like you need a new battery.
It's not just a battery in a case, it also has a small circuit board inside to control the charging etc, if that's faulty it won't charge, or if it has dead cells in it won't charge.

I don't have mother board cd of compaq amd athlon(tm) LE 1660.

If that is a Compaq Computer then you will need to go to the Compaq Website and enter your model number and operating system and you will see the list of available drivers for download. AMD only provides drivers for their products and you won't need drivers for the CPU so you won't need to go there. Your second best option, unless you put a different sound card in the computer than the one Compaq put in it, will be the website for the sound card manufacturer.

Go to the website for the DVD Maker and download the latest drivers.
No reason this won't correct the problem.
Don't go to Sony unless they made the DVD burner.

My onboard sound card won't play because the problem is cd driver was lose how can i fix it?

What I could recon from your question is that your audio driver is not installed in your PC.

Please be informed that any Driver software depends upon the PC make, Motherboard type and Operating System. You need to know all the three information's to do get going.

Please find the Driver software's of your Audio and video inside the installation disk provided with the PC at the time of purchase. As you have not mentioned your PC make I am unable to give you the direct download link. However you can download the same by visiting the website of the company that manufactured the PC.

Even here you need to be careful to download the correct software for your PC. You need to be exact with the PC make and Model number and the OS that you are using.

To install just Double clock on the driver setup.exe file and go on clicking 'Next' until you get the 'Finish' option and restart the PC.

If you feel that my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.

Thanks.

There is no sound coming out of the speakers on the laptop, although the bottom right hand corner Sound icon shows sound being produced.

Hi pat_gill,

Welcome to FixYa! How are you doing?

When was the last time you have sound? Did you install any software or programs recently?

  • Please make sure that the volume is not set to mute.
  • Try to reinstall the sound driver. You can install the sound driver using the drivers disc that came with your computer or you can download it from the computer manufacturer's website (example: http://support.dell.com). Don't forget to restart your computer after reinstalling the sound driver.

Hope that helps. Thank you for using FixYa.
