First see if sound when a DVD player is connected to the rear audio/video input---if set has sound that way the audio output circuit in the set is good.

Check to see if in menu speakers are switched to ON or OFF.

Lastly not all sets have a headphone jack but if this one does it can cause this problem as well.

If none of the above help time for the repair shop to get inside and give you an estimate.

I have lost my sound on my desk top pc how do i retrive it bk again

maybe you selected the wrong sound driver. go to control panel. go to sounds, speech, and audio devices. go to sounds and audio devices. go to audio. sound playback, check the device and if diffrent change it and see if that works.

your main volume on all channels where droped. some applications can cause this to happen.
go to start. all programs. go to accessories. go to entertainment. volume control. ensure the volume is up on there. Then if it has it on your volume controll. click on speaker volume that is over top the main volume controll. and make sure your computer speakers didn't drop volume.

make sure the mute is not checked

Sound output is low nowadays even at full volume whereas before it was ok. I didn't change anything with my computer nor did I change my speakers.

Two possible causes.1) Vol Settings changed in windows2) Bad hardware
1) Check your system's sound settings:

For Xp
  • Goto Control Panel
  • Double Click Sound and Audio devices / Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices
  • In device Volume Click Advance
  • Master Volume Control Window will open
  • Increase all the volumes to max, also make sure that Mute us UNCHECKED.

OR
  • From the bottom right corner of your screen in system tray, double click a small speaker icon and open Master Volume Control.

For Vista and Windows 7
  • From system tray (its at bottom right corner of your screen) double click on small speaker icon, it will open Volume mixer
  • Increase the volume to max.

2) If this does not work, then test your speakers by connecting it to some other system and vice versa.
If you get desired sound volume when you connect some other speakers to your system, then you have to change your speakers. And if your speakers are working fine on other system then you may have to purchase a new sound card.

Have external gateway speakers

First make sure your sound cards are working properly. 1) Check the master volume of your PC. Go to start menu, control panel, sounds speech and audio devices, sounds and audio devices - i) In volume tab click the speaker volume and check whether all the left, right, etc.. volumes are in medium or high. ii) In audio tab click the volume tab of sound playback and make sure that the master volume is not in mute and all the volumes are either in medium level or at 100%. After making these changes try playing any music. Even if the problem persists go and get your sound card checked in an authorised service centre.

Thanks & Regards,
Shiva

HP Pavillion dv 8000 no sound

check the volumes on sound driver.., also check maybe the master is muted ...if any of these won't work ..check wave volume also ...or reinstall the sound driver ....
look that when you double click the volume in trey system ( bottom right ) you get the full volume manager ..
if those would not fix the issue...uninstall the sound driver and reinstall it ..I assume you have the installation cd ..or the driver on disposal

Cable Set-Top Box remot won't change sound vol. Only TV Rem. does

They volume indicator you are seeing is meant to show the volume of content if it were to be recorded on the cable's dvr. This indicator has no effect on the volume of content as it is being watched. This feature allows recording of sound at a set volume even while the tv is off. It sounds as though you'll just have to use the volume buttons on your tv's remote, though you might want to try seeing if there is alternative set-up for those cable volume buttons.
