How to install 3G Mini Card in HP 8560w A6C86PA

The above HP Elite Book 8560w p/n A6C86PA was ordered but did not have the 3G capability like the A6C85PA / 87PA, etc. Customer nneds the 3G capability. We are told that installing HP HS2340 HSPA+ Mini Card will allow 3G capability in A6C86PA. How is that mini card installed into the 8560w? Does it fit under the battery and the SIMM card then fits into it?

Those cards only work in your country.
they must match. (commications laws, RF)
no country stated by you, earth is big place and we are WWW.

SOURCE: HOW TO INSTALL WIRELESS CARD FOR DELL LATITUDE PPX??

Thank you for your service. I wish you the best of health and happiness.

Your general support page is here:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/product_support/product_support_central?~ck=ln&c=us&cs=19&l=en&lnki=0&s=dhs&SystemID=LAT_PNT_P3_C400

The directions to swap out the wireless card are here:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latc400/en/sm/wireless.htm#1000113

Please note the earlier steps you have to take -- generally, removing a laptop hard drive is very very easy, and removing the keyboard isn't too bad at all if you're a little comfortable with tools.

Most manufacturers use Loctite or a similar thread-locking compound on laptop screws -- so find a small screwdriver set with which you're comfortable and can get some torque. (Perhaps the VA maintenance guys can loan you some tools if you ask -really- nicely? Professionals tend to guard their tools fiercely, but it doesn't sound like you're about to wander off with the tools).

Another thought: Are you sure your laptop has an antenna already wired? The antennas generally run up through the monitor.

If you're not comfortable with this, or have no way of avoiding static shock, you may wish to reconsider your purchase. I poked around NewEgg and found you can get the latest generation of wireless card in USB for less than $50 shipped. One example (I'm not endorsing this from personal experience, but it seems to get generally good reviews) is here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833315077

The obvious problem with USB adapters is they're sticking out the side. If you're in bed, for example, it's easy to bump it on a leg or something. If you're at a desk, you can still drop a book on top of it while it's plugged in.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have additional problems. Thank you again for your service.

SOURCE: Installing HP Printer Drivers on an Inspiron mini 10

lmao have you tried using the universal drivers they have... seem to work for most things when nothing works...

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=503548

but really the mini's are new ground for manufacturers that are used to tech support being able to troubleshoot issues they didnt "forsee" in the board room.

Good Luck and dont forget to rate me,

Toshiba satellite pro l500 2011 Tear down access the 3G blue motherboard add a sim card, How to enable its laptop to internet capability mod?

If you want to sacrifice your wireless then technically this could work. The wireless card is generally connected via 2 wires that can be disconnected. If you have a 3G 'card' with the same connector to the motherboard, and also if there is software / drivers to work the card in windows, the this may work. A much easier solution would be to purchase a 3G USB dongle.

How to use the sim card slot of Lenovo s10-3t ideapad in india. Is any provider providing such a provision

Hi. Maker sure upon ordering the computer at lenovo you requested for a 3G capability. The slot might be there but it is actually disabled. Enabling the 3G slot will need your laptop to be sent out at our repair department. If the 3G slot is enabled, all settings should come from you Insternet service provider.

My lenovo v460 (i5) seems to have a push-push sim slot installed. how can i check if the version i have has mobile broadband capability?

Hi,

Most Lenovo Computers provide Sim Slots for PC, but they are not equipped with a 3G Modem. You need to get that separately.

The description on Lenovo is 3G ready, meaning you could use it if you have additional parts installed; in this case, a Mini PCI 3g Modem

Hope this helps
