The only thing the main board does as far as a set turning off and on is supply the power supply on voltage (PSON) to the power supply board, if your getting a change on that pin then the main is doing its job if not your main is bad
Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time.
There is short circuited component/s at its main power supply regulator board. Check and replace them. It is best to replace the circuit board as card bassis, rather than trying to repair it.
check blown fuse at the power supply board.but before you replaced it with new one a component testing must be applied. check for a bad parts at the power supply section.
Most have a fuse block under the hood and one under or at the driver side of the dash....It probably wont be in plain sight without removing a plastic shield...check owners manual for the location. They seem to always put them in a good hidden place away from any danger to the fuses. If you dont have a owners manual I would call kia dealer and ask for location.
Look where the power cord plugs in to the back of the set. On a typical Westinghouse flat panel TV, it goes to a steel box with a line filter inside it. There will be a green wire from there to the frame of the TV and two more wires (on mine they are blue and brown) going to a connector on the power supply board. The fuse will be on the power supply board near that connector.
If this fuse is blown, simply replacing it will simply give you another blown fuse. You need to find and fix the problem that blew the fuse, usually a shorted diode, switching regulator chip or transistor on the power supply board. DON'T try to cheat with a bigger fuse (I'm sure you know better, but I've heard of a few guys who tried a screwdriver across the fuse contacts - a good way to cause a lot more damage). Leave the set unplugged, and use an ohmmeter to check for shorted semiconductor components.
More commonly the fuse is good, but a shorted diode or bad capacitor in the secondary side of the standby power circuit (on the power supply board) is keeping the set from working.
I have this problem too. I have solve it by change all the capacitor at the power circuit board. If you need the layout picture of the circuit board just email me. [email protected]
