No image/blank screen in the LCD

I have seen a similar problem being answered, but I request more clarification on this. I am not able to find the microswitch on top of card door that was mentioned in the solution. An image of that micro switch location would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The black "chip" is not actually a chip, it is a swich so that when you open the cf door the camera turns off. This will work, but only for a minute or two. However, there is a chip called the ccd chip which does malfunction, due to faulty wiring. Canon is aware of this problem and will fix it for free if you visit their website.

The microchip is located when you open the card door. you will see a picture that says CF and if you go up youll see a black chip . use a pin or pen to push it in, close the slot door and it should work.

I have a blank screen so can not use it to take a picture

Are you able to see old pictures and menu?I mean when the camera is in non-shooting mode .If so then blank screen generally appears due to the problem in CCD which is the general technology used in imaging devices.
If it is blank all the time and there is no display then the problem is with your LCD screen .You should change that. Please get back to me in case you need any other clarification

My lcd screen will not show the picture. The

First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button to make sure that you didn't accidentally turn off the LCD. But if that's not the case...
Try taking and downloading a picture taken while the screen is blank. Is the picture also blank? If so, a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help. Read the users comments there also for more tips.
