I have a samsung i6 digital camera. I have been using it for 3 years without problems with a PC. Now I bought a MacBook. I copied the photos to the mac and chose the files on the camera and pushed delete button. It seems as if the files are deleted and I can no longer see them on the camera but the memory they used to take is still unavailable. It feels like the photos are still there and I cant delete them. I cant use my camera anymore. Please help! I need to make photos on New Year s eve! Happy New Year! Ekmel

Try an external usb card reader and let the card pop up as a drive on the Mac. You should be able to see everything. Just do not format the card or you will loose everything

Do you really need a driver?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo management program.

I recently got a new computer and I have plugged the USB cable from my samsung es57 digital camera into my PC and it says that it is "searching preconfigured driver folders" I want to be able to...

There are many ways to download photos from the camera without using the disc that came with the camera.

1- After plugging the camera and turning it on the download setting go to My Computer. The camera card should appear there as E: or D: click until you see other folders and your photos will be in the DCIM folder. copy that and paste it.

2- Or use a card reader not a cable and use the same method.

3- Or use the above two methods, but use Picasa free softweare to Import the photos. It needs a bit of stude and practice. Make sure not to delete or format the camera memory card until you have downloaded and saved the photo to the computer and another placfe such as an external hard drive, a DVD or USB etc.

Hi there.
You may not like this solution, but it's real anyway. Average low-end digital camera life span is approximately 2 years depending on how much you use it. They vary between manufacturer. Low-end cameras ($100. to $200. range) have an approximate 1500 to 3000 shutter clicks which equates to about 1 cent per photo. Granted, more expensive cameras equal more shutter clicks and thusly and lower cost ratio. So, I'm sorry to say that you have just about hit the life span of your device. It would cost more to fix than to purchase a new one.
I hope this helps you, but no one here can suggest a "fix" for it. Thanks for coming to FixYa, and feel free to rate my solution.

It definitely sounds like you have a manufactural problem with your camera. Contact Samsung, and explain the problem to them, and see what they can do. Let me know what help they are able to give you.
