Would suggest you check the fusible linkage in the main fuse box under the hood. It is the rectangular compartmental transparent fixture next to the positive terminal that the prius is jumpered from. Usually a reverse polarity will cause a break in the circuit.

Hello
Prius2 is not powering up after one person swapped ower polarityof battery while changing it. We changed Big fuse at the front of the car and couple of small fuses. Now when pressing power button we have engine light and power button orange light fore just one sec. After it just stays dead. While pressing power button you can hear couple relays clicking for a sec and dc to dc giving hi frequency noise for the same amount of time. Help us please. This prius was manufactured in 2003. Many Thanks

SOURCE: hooked up the battery reversed polarity. Blew the fusible link but replaced it. Now the car will crank but not start.

start checking fuses hopefully its just another blown fuse if your lucky

but if all the fuses are good, you probably fried something like the computer or ignition module and probably the radio

hopefully its something simple and cheep but don't be surprised if you have to shell out some cash to replace the computer

SOURCE: reverse lights fuse blew

hi
check the wire because if the fuse keep blowing there's a wire somewhere on the car that has contact with the frame so everytime you put your car on reverse the 12V wire shortcut on the frame so the fuse blow check all your positive wire and your bulb as well
Good luck

SOURCE: Toyota Avalon 120 amp main fuse removal.

you have to loosen the mounting bolts on the fuse panel and on the bottom side the fuse is held in by 2 8 millimeter bolts.

Jump start reversed polarity now nothing

That sort of thing can badly damage management system, relays, melts connection, fuses. There is a fuse for the computer, check your manual. But get it diagnosed.

Try resetting the CPU program as it may be corrupted from reverse polarity. Have the ECM checked out as reversed polarity tends to damage them internally.

Polarity was reversed when jump starting vehicle installed new battery & no power to anything mechanic said fuse got blown. What fuse, where it is located & cost of it.

Hard to say without make, year, and model-but check all fuses in the power distribution box under the hood- ignition, alternator fuse, etc.-all of them, the small ones and the maxi-fuses. All fuses are pretty cheap. If you still have nothing, you may need a wiring diagram to check for fusible links that would be power distributors right off or near the battery. Fusible links work much like a fuse, and most have been replaced by maxi-fuses, but many vehicles have both. If there is a designated main fuse, it should be in the distribution block or box under the hood.

Reversed jumper cables on 2001 Nissan Pathfinder accidently, now nothing really works, no headlights or taillights, etc.

there should be a big main fuse like 100 or 80 amps where the positive battery cable goes into the fuse box, under the hood. check that first and hope thats all thats bad.

Fuse number 22 keeps blowing after friend jumpstart and blew 100amp fuse

Did he connect the cables wrong? I would have the alternator tested. I've seen bad alternators blow there fuses. If the cables were hooked up backwards, it may have damaged the alternator.
