From the information available on the Dell website I would say you could fit any PCI-E you can afford. The thing to consider is the power output of the power supply, which isn't great and it is not easy to upgrade on dell machines. So I would suggest you spend no more than about 75 (GBP)

SOURCE: graphics card for my computer

Hello.
I recommend you to buy the best you can afford, to be sure about compatibility you should look in your Motherboard manual
and look for what kind of graphics ports does it have and all the information related.
- PCI Express x16 ?
- PCI Express x1 ?
- AGP ?
- PCI ?
From top to bottom the performance decreases.

Also make sure your power supply can deliver the power the graphics card is going to need, you can see the power comsuption of the card in the manufacturer specification.
If you don't have the motherboard manual you can visit the manufacturer website and look for it.

About graphics cards manufacturers:
- Nvidea
- ATI
I have more experience with Nvidea, Geforce series are exellent.

I Hope this help you.

SOURCE: Can a R9550 Sapphire graphics card fit to optiplex 170L

It is possible you can etheir find an agp of the appropriate generation for your video card and attempt to solder it into the board. Even then you will need to re-program the bios to recognize it. Would be very difficult to do though as you would need to know how to code the eprom in machine language.

SOURCE: Upgrading my VGA card

You should buy an AGP graphics card instead of a PCI X16.
Check the link and you will see the specification.

SOURCE: i need a new graphics card for my dell optiplex

What you are looking for is an AGP 4x Low Profile video card, The GX260 is designed to be a business Small Form Factor computer so you are really limited on what you can upgrade to.
What are you looking to do with the video card?
How much do you want to spend on the upgrade?
What Country are you shopping in?
You can find the Service Manual here:

I need to purchase a new graphics card for my HP hard-drive. How do I find the right one?

Hi ursula_zajac,

First, you need to know the slot of the motherboard for your graphic card.

Previous slot for the motherboard and graphic card was AGP Slot but the newest is PCI-E (PCI Express).

After determining the slot of your motherboard, you may now buy any graphic card as long as it has the same slot with your motherboard.

Hope this helps you a lot.

Can I upgrade the video card on a Gateway E4300 to work with Shader 3 graphics (Eve Online)? Or do I have to buy a new computer?

You only really need to upgrade the video card and the PSU (most video cards need more power than what most companies like dell and gateway provide.). So no need to buy a new computer.

Im playing a game called call of duty modern warfare 2 but it says video card or driver doesnt support ubyte4n vertex data.so what should i do?

Hi choongjieyi,
To be sure I would need to know what your system is but the problem is most likely that your computer has integrated graphics (this means its built right onto the motherboard rather than actually having a graphics card that plugs into the motherboard). Integrated graphics are not able to run games as graphic intensive as the call of duty games. The only other problem it would be is if computer has a very old graphics card that simply does not support that.

The solution depends on your computer. If your computer is using integrated graphics BUT it has a PCI-E slot then you simply need to buy a graphics card and install it. Some budget computers will not have a PCI-E slot and if this is the case you would need to buy a new computer. If your computer does have a PCI slot (this is the earlier version of the PCI-E slot) you MIGHT be able to get away with buying an old PCI graphics card to play the game but you would most likely run into serious performance issues as that game is very demanding and requires modern shaders.

Upgrade graphics on a Asus psgc mx 1333

Hi,

I remember the days when I was noobin' it up w/ my PC, and I also wanted a new video card. But that was 4 years ago. I know a lot more now lol.

To keep things simple, I'll say this:

You can fit any video card in there as long as it's for a PCI-E x16 slot, which is a lot better than say, the old school AGP slots.

The possible not-so-good news is that it's not PCI-E 2.0 x16 compatible, which rules out most of the newer cards.

http://www.newegg.com Is a great place to buy computer parts, as they usually have some nice deals on there. I built the computer I'm typing this on from there, so I've been a customer.

One of the great things about the site is the way you can filter things down, and by slot type is one of your choices

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162022 that video card is probably the best one they have, and it's pretty cheap compared to newer cards. Don't expect to play the newest games on there, as this isn't all too great of a card.

If you really want to get into some good gaming, you'll need a new rig, which you can either build or buy (I recommend build....saves A LOT of dough)

Hope this helps ya out bud,

Good Luck :)

What video card would be compatable with a insignia computer model d300?

I would recommend any of the Nvidia or ATI video cards that come in the PCI format. Your computer only has PCI slots. These are the older slot types, so your options will be limited for brand new cards, but there's still plenty out there. As long as the slot type is PCI and the chipset is a major manufacturer, it should work with no problem. Do NOT get any video card that says "PCI Express" or "PCI-X" - they won't fit.

256 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 for Inspiron 9400/E1705 Card Failu

Both solutions are wrong. The Dell Inspiron 9400/1705 is a laptop. If you buy a Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 for this laptop, you need to buy a Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705 motherboard for a discrete video card. The integrated video is a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. The integrated video has the video chipset on the motherboard and the discrete video (GeForce Go 7800) has the video chipset on the video card.

Can I My motherboard support a PCI video card?

Hi there.
Your motherboard will support both kinds of Video card.
PCI is quite old and is only supported up to 128MB of video memory.
PCI Express is new technology and is by far the best card that you can buy giving you the best graphics experience and can support up to 1GB of graphics memory making it good for gaming.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Upgrading graphics card onto gx280 motherboard

You need to find a "PCI Express" video card. Your Motherboard does not have an AGP slot. There are lots of them to choose from. Better to pay more now and get more memory on the video card than to regret the purchase and buy another one. IMHO

Games so laggy

Integrated Intel graphics are not recommended for games because 3d graphics for games are too demanding. I would try lowering the detail settings and resolution of your games to the lowest possible settings.

It seems that your motherboard has no AGP or PCI express slots for installing a video card i recommend you buy a new motherboard and video card, perhaps a whole new computer will be more cost effective if you want to have better performace for your games.

Here's a video that explains why dedicated video graphics cards are so important, and why integrated video cards are not good for games.
