I purchased a Upstar tv model P42EWT I want a small pair of speakers for it.

I recently purchased this TV from Tiger Direct, I wish to purchase a couple small external speakers to fit this TV. The ones on the TV are pretty weak.

SOURCE: Humming noice

I have seen similar problems (features?) with Syntax LCD TVs. One thing to try is to make sure that the backlight brightness is set to its highest setting. On my Syntax, when this is set to a darker setting, it produces annoying hum through the speakers. Mine also is smart about turning *off* the audio amplifier when set to zero (or mute), which sounds like the behavior you are describing.

SOURCE: crap sound from swisstec 19" LCD TV

Thanks Guys
I have fixed this by puchasing a scart to audio and video separate using a digi freeview then routing the sound into an amplified pair of computer desk top speakers. Video into TV and bingo. only drawback is that sound cannot be operated remotely. But I now have a good picture and even better sound. For the price of a lead and connectors and speakers it has given me a decent set up. But dont buy a swiss tec 19" unless you like really crap sound. Geoff

No it doesn't. You must use a set top box.

SOURCE: Want external speakers for Sony TV Model KLV-S32A10

This is really easy. A pair of simple bookshelf speakers will do nicely. Simple speaker wire can be run to them, to extend whatever cable they have. If it's only screw terminals they have, so much the better.
You'll have to attach RCA plugs to the ends going to the TV, but that's easy.

I have a 32inch Upstar HDTV. How can I input security or passcodes, if I don't have the remote that belongs to the TV? Thanks

The easiest answer would be to purchase a replacement remote for your TV model (check Amazon and EBay, there are specialty sellers) or to get a universal remote. Just make sure that the universal has codes for your specific model

Can my tv play sound through tv and speakers?

There should be an Output in the back of the TV. You will need to get an RCA cable which is the Yellow Red and White cables. Connect the yellow and white cable to the Output in the back of the TV and connect the other end to the Speakers.

I recently purchased a 52 inch LCD. I have

This could be the speakers are vibrating onto the casing and need padding out more to prevent this.If this isnt the case, you may have a sticking coil on one of your speakers..When the sound distorts, remove one speaker in turn to see which one(s) are the offending unit(s) and replace. Is there a buzzing noise coming from the speakers especially in low volume? If so then you may have a faulty capacitor in your power supply producing hum on sound. Hope this helps :)

for $19.99 you can get an adapter.  Do a search for TV mount adapters 200x400 on amazon, or tiger direct, or the shopping site of your choice.

Direct TV Remote - No Codes Operate TV

I couldn't find any info on that particular model, but if it has a built in DVD or VHS player you cannot program the Direct TV Remote to it. You will have to use both remotes. The Direct TV one to change the channels and the TV remote for the TV functions.
