Connect ipad to my tv
All solutions posted above are good and correct, but do keep in mind that not all apps support video out, so most of the time, your TV will say it is not getting a signal, unless you are playing saved videos or an using an app which does support the feature, such as Netflix or Youtube.
You can connect the ipad to tv with an hdmi cable from the tv to an adaptor which I purchased on eBay ,I can watch catchup tv such as ,bbc I player ,itv player sky news bbc news NASA tv ,but you can't watch sky movies from I pad ,you can also watch an app called tvcatchup free ,these are uk apps .
what does the HDMI cable look like? Does it have HDMI on one end and the Ipat (thin slot) connecting to the other end & if so, will the I pad charge during the Netflix movie. I read you need to get the kind that charges. ty
No the hdmi cable is just one cable,the adapter to the iPad has the iPad fitting on one end and hdmi female input on the other

You will need Apple Composite AV Cables to connect the iPad to your television. The cables can be purchased online or at your local Apple store.
You can also stream your iPad to your television if you have an Apple TV by using Apple's Airplay.
