Check the infra-red emission to your remote control first. If it is found OK, and all other functions works with this remote control, your remote control need cleaning.

This did not solve the problem, my remote works fine, it's the tv, but thank you for your time, I appreciate it.

Your solution did not solve my problem. Everything on my remote works fine. The tv responds except the volumn does not respond to the remote or by using the volume buttons on the tv. So thanks for responding, but I still have a volumn problem. I did however clean my remote with your instructions and it works better.

Volumn increases automatically

You probably have a shorted button on the TV itself. It's not the remote. Consult a professional TV technician to resolve this issue.

Tv volumn

Are you using another remote for the guide? Like the cable box remote? If that is the case then the remote could be sending a signal to the cable box that is the same as the signal used to adjust the volume on the television.

Added dtv converter box and sound volumn drops!

some of those converter boxes have their own volume inside the box also. If your remote control for the converter box has its own volume control, try turning it up and then turn up the TV volume control use the TV remote. If this works you should see a volume indication on the screen of the TV for each of the attempts.
