You need to install the motherboard's chipset driver and then the latest driver for the graphics card.

Hey, It seems you have downloaded the wrong driver package. There are difrent drivers for eatch type of card. Ati radeon 9700, ati radeon 2600 pro, ati radeon 2400. All have difrent drivers and you need to download the correct ones.

Please use this page and select the correct ones for you:

SOURCE: With ASUS M2N-MX mainboard, ATI Radeon 7000 Series problem.

Your Motherboard has an onboard video chipset made by Nvidia. Nvidia and ATI have a history of not playing nice with each other.

I have 2 possible solutions for you.

1.) Remove the Radeon card and use the Nvidia onboard card (Essentially a Geforce 6100)

2.) Enter the bios (Usually done by hitting <Delete> or <F12> while the computer is booting up) Your Motherboards manual can tell you for certain. Then find the options for onboard video and disable it.

Then boot up the PC, When it say starting Windows press <F8> to bring up the windows boot menu. Select "Start in Safe mode" Once this loads up open the device manager, look under "Display adapters" find the entry for the Nvidia adapter, right click on it and select either "Uninstall" or "Disable this device"

Which you choose depends on your personal preference Whether you like Nvidia or ATI boards better.

If it makes your decision easier a Geforce 6100 is roughly equivalent to a Radeon 8500 in performance.

I hope this helps
Dave

SOURCE: Graphic card

Beeping and no video means that the card failed to come up, and the bios is letting you know. try another card, or test that card in another system.

Onboard audio automaticly disabeled by video card

It sounds if it may be that you need to turn off the HDMI audio in the nVidia Control Panel. This can be accessed from either the system tray or by right clicking on the desktop. From the control panel, select "change resolution" under the "Display" heading and in the right panel select your display and you should find a drop down box under for the connecter, which will allow you to select HD audio disabled, then you can exit and save changes.

ATI Radeon HD driver installation error: product identification error

Hello there.
I am an ATI Radeon customer myself (I own an ATI Radeon HD 2600XT) and there's a problem that I've faced for a long long time and have finally found the solution.
If you have this driver or any other ATI Radeon HD 2600/3600 series you might have noticed already that when trying to install the drivers (both out of the CD or the downloaded once) the driver-installation program does NOT identify that you have that exact model. Thus, causing you problems of not being able to play high quality PC Games and/or Video Codecs problems.
I was astonished, that's an error from ATI side, what should I do?
Well thank god ATI put an eye for that problem and they finally published a solution to it, a hotfix.
How to apply the hotfix and finally enjoy the potentials of this amazing Video Card?
Go here http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/CatalystAGPHotfix.aspx
Select your operation system. (For me, I have Windows XP Professional, so I would click Catalyst 10.4 Hotfix for Windows XP PRofessional and Home Edition.)
And by clicking there it prompts you to download the hotfix that includes the driver and ATI Catalyst.
Install it, and you're good to go.

Enjoy.

Hi,

No need for depression.
Go to your Device Manager > Display adapters > double-click on your card [HD2600xt]. Go to the Resources tab and you will see one of the resources marked with red, try to manually change it's corresponding resource type setting until it is safe to use [I presume that you have a resource-conflict issue !?]. Until you do so, your gfx card will not use it's full potential ;)

Kind regards,

When I plug in my Gigabyte Ati Radeon 2600 graphic accelerator in HP dx2300 computer I cannot boot win xp. There is no signal at all at monitor. There is no activity of hdd.

Boot the Windows in a safe mode and u8ninstall all the graphic drivers already installed - whether of on board graphic card or some other card and then restart windows & install the drivers for your HD2600XT.
Please do not forget to disable the on board graphic in the bios of the motherboard - after uninstalling all the previous drivers.
Good luck & happy viewing!

Diamond Radeon HD3870, 512MB DDR4

According to ATI this is a known issue. They refer problems to microsoft about this error as they say it is an o/s issue. Microsoft refers you back to ATI saying it is a thermal issue. I have an ATI card as well & have the same problem. Hopefully the next driver will fix this issue when released. Hope this helps.
