Although mattresses come with a warranty, this does not mean
that you should not care for it properly.
The following is a list of ways in which you can further the life of
your mattress and keep it in great condition.
ā¢
Ensure proper installation
ā¢
Make sure to let your mattress breathe - when
you take a vacation, do not leave sheets on your bed; try stripping the bed
twice a week and leaving it without sheets until the time you are going to bed
ā¢
Do not jump on the bed - keep children from
jumping on your mattress
ā¢
Keep your bed from sagging by using a supportive
bed frame
ā¢
Use a mattress pad to absorb
moisture/perspiration that can be easily removed and washed
ā¢
To help minimize wear and maximize comfort make
sure to rotate your mattress every two weeks during the first three months
after purchase and every two months after that
Here is a great guide on how to properly rotate you
mattress:
Technically no. You can buy just a new mattress, but some of the damage done to mattresses ie the indentations are caused by insufficient frame support. So check your frame to make sure it's in good condition with nothing broken.
Don't
rush out to buy a new sofa bed. You can reinforce the one you have with
plywood. You will need to measure under
the mattress and have pieces cut that fit in horizontally but it's not a hard
job and should make a big difference.
Waterbed is a bed or mattress filled with water. Waterbeds tend to sag under your body's heavier parts. Many people find waterbeds very comfortable and wont sleep on anything else. Just remember, before you buy one, sleep on someone else's to see if it is right for you.
