This is not good, the problem is in the pladder motor that spins the dvd, it has become defective and will need to be replaced in order to correct the problem.
The pladder motor that spins the dvd disc is failing, or the 5volts to the motor is flutuating, usually the whole assembly is replaced and is expensive.

Hello
Its laser Picku Unit is faulty. Either it may be dirty, or its laser beam intensity has sent down. Just put a cleaning disc, and play it for atleast three times. If this helps you, you can understand that the lens of the laser assembly was dirty. If this also doesn't help you, repace the laser assembly with same type and number is the only remedy. OK.
Do you mean it plays a few seconds then skips onto the next song? If that is the case then most likely you have "Intro" play set which only plays a few seconds as a introduction then skips to the next time.
To fix this, during music playback, press the [menu] button, then there should be an option there to change it from "Intro" to "NORMAL" instead.
all the rca's have been released without quality control... you will have to open and adjust the potentiometers (the adjustible resistors on the main board) to re-calibrate the laser timings. However the way that the boards are mounted inside the boombox's chassis you will need to take apart everything to be able to reach the main board (inside vertical right side board with large heatsink and fan) without causing a short (as to be able to properly adjust these you need to have a cd playing and the whole thing needs to be upright.
I would recommend throwing it all way, not worth the time if you don't have the patience.
