I tried installing D-Link router software that came with DIR-655 on my ThinkPad T61p with Windows Xp (SP3).
However the D-Link installation software was unable to find the router (DIR-655)! I checked the cables and uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but no luck – what to do?
I got the D-Link (DWA-645) wireless card adaptor to work in my ThinkPad T30.
Now I need the T61p to work with the router...

You do not need two wirless cards for the same computer if it has a bilt in one use that one or you can have the computer manafacser come and install a newer one for you.

- Log on to the configuration page of the router
- Go to Manual Wireless Network Setup
- And Change the Channel width to different one

- They're both function as an USB and Air Card.

I would suggest you try to change the channel to a higher one and this solves this problem most of the times...You need to go to your router configuration to do that usually by opening a browser and type 192.168 ... and log in into your router...Hope this helps.

Don't worry about it, The router is backward compatible to B,G and N only. the Router that your is wireless extreme N. Some of the A, D is not been supported by the router that means that we are on a new generation, there some older router can support the A,D.

I just bought a DIR655 and have the same problem. In the network connection property it says something like "authentification failed...". Windows also complains that "windows can't connect to the network". If I replace the router with my old router, then eveything is fine.
Can anyone help?
