I moved from The Netherlands to Scotland last year. Using my European Philips TV gave me a problem: I cannot get any sound on my telly. Can somebody help me: can this problem be fixed?
Thanks Jimmy! My TV is in storage now. I'll try the cheapest solution first ASAP and will give my feedback after that. Thanks Jimmy! My TV is in storage now. I'll try the cheapest solution first ASAP and will give my feedback after that.

Europe uses a different sound carrier than the UK Europe = 5.5mhz UK = 6.0mhz some sets can be switched in the customer menu others will need to be modified (although this in some cases may not be cost effective)

However, you can still enter into a Trust Deed if you live in any other country of the United Kingdom when you have lived in Scotland at any point in the last 12 months. ... This isn't limited to people currently living inside the UK's borders.

Yes of course your partner need a visa for living with you in UK. Anybody live outside of the European Union they needs a visa to live with their beloved partner. In addition the british citizen must meet set criteria including earning at least £18k per year and not being on any benefits. Love is not enough unfortunately.
In this situation your partner can apply partner visa UK, it will help you to live together in the UK.
The map of Scotland comes with the "UK and Ireland", "Western Europe" or "Europe" maps so if you buy any of the three you'll have the map of Scotland. You can buy one of the maps by going to www.garmin.com and logging into myGarmin. Click on the myMaps tab at the top of the screen and then on "Purchase more maps" Follow the prompts.
Before buying the map, if you have a satnav bought in the USA you need to check if it will work in Europe. Most of the USA garmin nuvis will not work in Europe with the exception of those that come with both European and American maps.
The problem is a faulty inverter kit (2 boards).
I live in the Netherlands and had it twice, tv is 2 and a half years old! In the Netherlands Philips replaces the inverterkit without any
costs for the consumer (even after warranty time) cause they have
admitted that it is a production fault.Philips made a new inverterkit
which should solve the problem indefenit.Be sure the kit is Version
1.3! I had 1.2 after the first problem, and that went wrong after 7 months again. Today got revision1.3 installed which is Philips final solution.
I have the same mixer and I moved from the States to the UK. I just bought a really good power step-down converter (has to be step-down rather than a standard adapter, and watch the wattage of the adapter). It worked fine.
Thanks Jimmy! My TV is in storage now. I'll try the cheapest solution first ASAP and will give my feedback after that.
