I have a toshiba satellite laptop Intel, i factory default it and now it don't get past the boot menu, it says that the software is corrupt or missing. How Do I get past that screen.

I hope you have the restore CD's for that laptop. Restoring wipes the hard drive and makes it ready to reinstall the software on the CD's. If you don't have a set, you might be able to get a set from Toshiba's website.

Check system then press f1 key

Try this:

Instructions
    • 1

Insert the Toshiba A60 recovery disc into the CD/DVD-ROM drive.

    • 2

Power off the Toshiba (with the recovery disc still loaded inside the optical drive).

    • 3 Hold down the "F12" key, at the same time hit the "Power" button to turn the system back on. You don't have to hold down the Power button, but keep holding the F12 key.
    • 4

Release the "F12" key when the" In Touch with Tomorrow TOSHIBA" screen is displayed. This will open up the BIOS.

    • 5

Change the boot order by using the arrow keys to select "CD/DVD ROM" icon in the menu. The Toshiba will now boot from the recovery disc and restore the system. Follow any additional on-screen instructions.

My toshiba laptop satellite A55-S326 wont boot. Only can use the escape key then go into bios but still doesn't boot. Tried my recovery disc & it goes thru the instal but then still goes to a blank...

Your install discs are bad. Please don't shoot the messenger. Call Toshiba for new discs. Here is the number (it took me 30 minutes to find this. Please give me a 4-thumbs-up rating. If you don't, I spent time away from family for free).

My toshiba wont boot past the BIOS screen. What

Several things could be wrong, the most likely is a failed HD or damaged windows install. If you press F12 it should take yuo to the boot menu, reply back with the list of options and I'll take a look,

When the computer starts to boot up does it ask you to boot to CD/DVD?
1. If so put the xp disc in the drive and turn on the power when it asks you to boot to CD/DVD press any key. This will start the installation process.
2. If it does not ask you to boot to CD/DVD you will have to go into Bios and change the boot priority to boot to disk drive first. save the settings and do the first step over again
