Coolpix S210 Lens Error

I recently borrowed my sons Coolpix S210 camera and it worked great. Took great pictures while we were on vacation in North Carolina. I turned it on for another photo and the screen showed the picture saved it but then it said "Lens Error !" I turned it off ond tried again same scenario. I have searched the web and found that this is a common problem with camera. Is there a way to fix it or does Nikon have a warranty against this problem? Any info would be appreciated.

I think I answered this one earlier. Is the lens stuck? If so, help it out with a little screw driver. Worked for me!

The problem: camera says lens error /coolpix S210

Try gently jiggling the lens. Blow compressed air around the barrel. If that doesn't help, the camera will need service.

Hi!
It sounds like the lens focus is stuck. If you don't have experience in camera repairs, you should give it for a repair to your local Nikon service center or other camera service center.

Try jiggling the lens. Use compressed air to blow out any grit around the lens barrel. If that doesn't do it, you'll need to get the camera serviced or replaced.

My camera worked fine one day, then it was in my purse. When I went to use it the light was on and the screen said there was a lens error. Everytime I try to turn it on now it makes a grinding noise and...

try these:-
  • connect it to pc and on it
  • vaccum the barrel of lens
  • changing mem. card and batt. for 2min.
  • shake it.
  • on and off in different positions
  • hit the part near lens softly with palm (trust me this made mine work)

LENS ERROR ON COOLPIX L3 CAMERA

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Coolpix S210 Lens Error

Mine did this. I assume the lens won't pop up as it normally did?

To fix mine, I wedged a small screwdriver into the lens and then turned it on, gently nudging the lens out. It worked great and I haven't had the issue again yet.

Just a little help is all it likely needs to pop that lens out.
