Since the company went under years ago and took all of their software with them, I was wondering if anyone knew where to find the software aka drivers for this mp3 player?. I just dug it out of the closet from 7 years ago and it would make a nice gift for a little kid if I could get the drivers for it. Thanks in advance!. :0)

Hi. Normally you just need to conenct the Mp3 player to your computer and drag and drop the MP3 files from your computer to your player. if the player came in with a software, then you need to install it.
The Hercules company went out of business 3 years ago, the products they made are no longer supported by anyone. Try several Creative webcam Win 7 drivers, they had similar hardware components, maybe one will work.
Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://www.gateway.com
and search for your model-number.
Note that any Gateway older than a few years ago is impossible to find drivers for -- Gateway sold all the inventory of parts and the service-contracts to a company that went bankrupt. The bankruptcy-trustee has "wound-up" that company, and tried to sell the inventory of parts, and all the software device-drivers, to maximize the value to the creditors of that company.
Did you check around for prices to rebuild at reputable tranny shops? As far as years that are compatible, the larger auto wreckers/recyclers have books & software available to them, that will tell you what year(s) will work.
Demand sams take it back, or give you a working one. They sold it, they need to handle their end of the deal. If they don't back there product, put it in the news.
There is a service bulletin for this problem - you need to reintialize the memory settings in the service menu - I have a pdf file showing how to do this.
Anyone know what the DC in voltage is? I don't have an AC adapter for it.
