Your owner's manual (see link below) suggests unplugging it for a few minutes then trying again. F6 is usually a problem in the controller / circuit board. If it still has the error message, it needs to be serviced. To find the Amana authorized servicer in your area, contact your local distributor or contact the Amana ComServ Support Center at 866-426-2621 or [email protected]. We have an error code of E-11. We are trying to set this product to demo mode for our in store display

I appreciate your post, Wendy!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire microwave is displaying an error code of "E-11". An "E-11" stands for the gas-sensor is open, this could be an issue with your sensor harness, connections, or gas sensor. I would recommend performing a reset on your microwave and you can do that by flipping off the household circuit breaker for at least ten minutes. If that does not resolve your issue you may need to seek assistance from a professional technician for proper repairs. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

Main oven wont heat

Thank you for your post, Allison! I understand that you are having concerns with your microwave oven heating. This could be because of several factors, such as: loss of power to the microwave, a displayed error message or a faulty magnetron. Please ensure that your household power circuit breaker is not tripped and that your appliance is not displaying an alpha-numeric error message or code on your control panel. If you notice an error message please comment and let me know so that I can help you further. Otherwise, if you do not notice any errors and have sufficient power you are more than likely experiencing a faulty magnetron. The magnetron is the sole component that allows the microwave to heat. This is not a typical do it yourself repair so I recommend contacting a professional to confirm this and complete any necessary repairs.

Thanks,
Chris

Display board with the numbers is not working, but the menu above it lights up??????

The full model number would be GH6178XPQ0, GH6178XPT0, GH6178XPB0, or GH6178XPS. The suffix denotes color, white, biscuit, black, and stainless steel, respectively.

If you're getting a "Touch Error" as shown below, it can probably be repaired for $39.95. Details are here.

microwavesvc_35.jpg

If you've ever had an "F2T" error, the touch screen assembly (part number CU-LCD) will have to be replaced. We can supply that.

If your display automatically upon power up goes into the test mode similar to the shown below, part number CU-LCD will not fix the problem. Instead you will need a "microcomputer", which is the manufacturer's name for the control unit assembly consisting of the lower power circuit board and the upper CPU unit / circuit board, both of which are mounted above the LCD assembly. If you have this error, please e-mail us with the full model number from the tag on or in your microwave and we can tell you the part number that you need.

How to resolve the F6 E0 error code on the built-in Kitchenaid microwave oven? The unit was brand new and installed 2 and half years ago in my new house. One website mentions the description for this...

"F6" on a Whirlpool microwave means you have a shorted cook relay on your control board, which I can repair. Details here.

FixYa doesn't notify me when there's a response, so if you have other questions, please contact me directly.

What does error message F5 mean?

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing..

I'm not finding the one for for this model online.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If it's a convection model, F5 would be a damper door sensing error, which is usually a bad switch.

More info on switches is here.

One of the damper-related components, either the switch or motor or the damper door may be binding.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

If it's not a convection model, F5 is probably a sensor error.

On some models, "SENSOR ERROR" appears on the display when:
  • Using the sensor feature, the door was opened before steam could be detected. Do not open the door until stream is sensed and time is shown counting down on the display.
  • Steam was not detected in the maximum amount of time. Use Time Cook to heat for more time.
Here's some info from Samsung, which is the actual manufacturer of these ovens:

"Some models are equipped with a sensor that can automatically adjust the oven's heating time based on the amount of steam in the oven. If your microwave is displaying E1, E4, or E5, there may be an issue with the gas sensor. For an E1 error, press the Cancel button and check on the food.

"Other microwaves do not give specific error messages and just display "8888" on the LED. If you get this error message, your microwave needs service.

"If the message is either ERROR or E-6, it indicates a mechanical fault.

"For all error indications, including the SE or 5E error, try unplugging the microwave from the outlet for at least ten minutes and then plug it back in. If the error persists, the microwave may require service. Please use our ASC Locator to find your nearest Authorized Service Center."
