I turned off the tv manually and left for work. Returned home and it would not come on. I unplugged and turn on with remote and heard two clicks as if it turned itself off.

Check its main board for shorted component/s. Check its horizontal output section circuit. LOT [Line Output Transformer] should be suspected. If you are not handy, seek tech: support.

SOURCE: TV won't turn on

My TV won't power on either with the remote or with the manual power on. I hear a clicking noise and it appears that the TV is turning on and off. After several times it stops. Never actually see a picture.

Hi. I have an ALBA LCD32880HDF television which I purchased in August 2009 so just outside warrenty. I have been on holiday for a week and had switched the television off at the wall and returned home...

hi all the black screen solution for me was this (this is assuming you have alba brand tvs and have the black screen BUT can still hear the sound) i after much fekkin around with it eventually found the solution in it (its the bloody backlight brightness in the settings you need to turn it from high TO LOW) ....... now this can be a bit tricky because usually when you have the black screen problem if u unplug the tv for a few hours and plug it back in you only get or should get probably like 30-1min of picture time before the picture goes black so u have to be reallllly fast with the menu button to get into settings before the picture dies (i learned the sequence for my alba lcd32880hdf) it was the following (for this part use the remotes arrows the one with the ok button usually in the centre of them) turn the tv on then click menu then press the up key 2 times then press ok then use the right arrow/button twice (although u cant see what ur doing ur navigating the menu hehe) then press the down arrow/button seven times before finally pressing the left arrow/button (once) <-- (now this bit may need to be done twice if you can remember setting ur backlight to max use it twice it will put it on minimum if in doubt only press it the once remember to totally power the tv off before repeating the steps to reset menus default posistions) remember thats the solution i found for my tv stands to reason (since i did infact buy another tv same brand different model which got the same problem) that this could be a solution for all alba tv users try it worked for me 2 times if ur not sure of the menu look up you tv models menu navigation online to find out the buttons you press gl hopefully it works for you too

Tv won't turn on. blinking red light in lower left corner

unplug the television...wait 10 seconds and then plug back in....if you listen carefully after 5-10 seconds you will hear a click sound (the same sound that you hear when you turn on or off) ...once you have heard it, turn the TV on again using the remote. Do not turn on until you hear the click. If this does not work, try again but turn the TV on again before you hear the click. I dont know why it happens but it is as if the TV gets confused as to whether its supposed to be on or off. Most of the time, the solution is to turn it on after the click so I would always try that first.

Left tv unplugged for a few months no tv won't turn on

The first thing to do is try to turn on the set with the remote and then when it doesn't respond go to the set and hold down the MENU and INPUT buttons at the same time until the power LED starts blinking a two sequence code. Like 2 - 4 or 1 - 2. The code will keep blinking for five or six times and stop. The blinking is the microprocessor telling you why the set is not working. We techs call that a self diagnostic function. Which this set has. Just repost your findings.

Mitsubishi WS-55807 Won't Turn On

The TV is on protect mode. The clicking sound is the protection switchthat keep turning the TV off to prevent further damage, this happenswhen a fault had been detected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Alsoensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sendingbad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver boxor dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashingled on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1Theinternal circuits are jammed because of electrostaticcharges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage readby the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started theprotection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrongvoltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in, startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faultsthat can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, aconvergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check alsothe video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, youcan get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

Could anything have spilled inside? Since you weren't home you can't be sure. unplug set, get a handheld hairdryer and blow thru the tv side vents for a half hour on medium. Move the dryer around all vent locations. Plug tv back in when done and let me know.

Hitachi 32 No Picture or sound

if you are hearing a click and electrical statics when you try to turn it ON, the flyback of the tv is busted there are alot of reasons for that problem lighting is one so dont leave the cable screwed in if ever youre going out for a long time. you can have it replaced by a technician ( flyback). but it would cost you. and im not sure if you can find an orginal flyback considering its 10years old. there are replacement flybacks but quality would not be as good as the original one.
