I have a akai hdtv 1080i monitor projection tv. It started flickering on and off, but never with a picture. I've unplugged it trying to get it to reset but when I plug it back in all it does is flicker on and off with an electrical noise that sounds like its turning on and off. How do I fix it?

First place to look is in the power supply and a MODEL number would be helpful.

I sounds like a bad filter in the sudio supply circuit finally took out the sound output chip or the power supply that controls the sound circuit. its a soliud state set and there are no user replaceable parts inside this set. Unless you have had solid state repair experience, please be safe and call in a pro to assost you in this repair. good Luck ps Please rate this thread

The bulb you are buying is not the origianl one. The life of you bulb is too short, probably it was use before. Buy a original bulb and new.

    Changing resolution settings

Change the resolution through your Cable / Satellite box - Go into the menu. Most of the Akai tv sets do not have an option to change the resolution.
