Adaptor needed for boom mic

Have purchased a Rode VideoMic Shotgun mic (B0007U9SOC ) as a gift and now realized that the round mount of the mic won't work with the Panasonic Model PV-GS320. Is there an adaptor plate available to match the two together? The product info says that the VideoMic attaches to any camcorder that has the standard camera-shoe fitting and utilizes a stereo mini jack for audio output. Does this camera have a stereo mini jack as well?

Thanks,
Shari

SOURCE: Turn the sound off for recording on PV-GS320 DV camcorder

Hi, I think the PVGS320 has an external mic input. Plug in a 3.5 mini dummy jack and that should turn off it internal microphone.

SOURCE: LCD broken Panasonic PV-Gs 320

Hey, all.

I also have this problem, but have a little more to add:

Here is a website that carries the lcd screen: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/Epartr/PartsList.asp

I think that its the following part number:

L5BDDYH00022 LCD DISPLAY (MONITOR) 87.56
$87.56 sucks, but it could be worse. Problem is now, I'm not sure how to replace it without taking the entire camera apart.

Let me know if someone does this successfully.

Thanks!

EAL

Obviously, fcp cant support your video files recorded by your camcorder. U need to convert these AVCHD formats to mp4 first.
Here i recommend u Pavtube HD Converter for Mac which can help u convert these video files to mp4 to edit in your fcp. No quality loss during conversion, have a try:

How to replace the 3.5mm plug from Rode Videomic, it's giving false contact and have to move the plug constantly to get it to work, or replace the whole cable would be better?

First of all, are you sure it is actually the plug ? Could it be the socket into which it is inserted ? Replacing the cable in its entirety would seem the better option, at least to begin with.

Hitachi ex30 excavator

My guess is there is a rod under the floor connecting the pedal to a valve and its dropped off.

MY VIDOE CAMCORDER WILL NOT RECORD SOUND WHEN I ATTACH A MIC

You need to connect your mic to an amplifier first and then to camera. Orherwise mic has not enouth power output. Zoom h4n might work but its expansive. Or u can buy wm-v1, wireless mic, it'll work just fine. Or buy mic with power already built in, like Rode VideoMic.

Microphone stand

this confused me too! if you havn't figured it out already there is an adaptor screwed into the mic clip to work with standard mic stand mounts. in order for it to fit on the desk stand that comes with it, you have to to first unscrew the adaptor sitting inside the barrel of the mic clip. then it will be the right size to screw onto the stand.

Will not cycle

your shotgun may just need a realy good clean up,,,look in the gas by pass ports in the barrel are they blocked up with crud! clean the piston and cylinder remove all the carbon use very light oil on this part,,strip the action to clean it out of unburnt powder,,,,also they dont like soft rounds,,stick to fast heavy loads,,they love them,, but birds hate them!!!

Not sure my VideoMic has the three step pad. Where is it located? Thanks Roger Lindstrom

The pad setting is set by a (very) small dip switch located in the upper section of the Battery compartment. You will need to remove the battery to gain access.

I would reccomend using a toothpick or pin of some sort to change the setting, as the switch is extremely tiny.

Rode NTG 2

You'll want to connect it to any mic input using either an XLR cable, or an adaptor cable or transformer appropriate for your input, e.g., 1/4" or 3.5mm.

Rode NT2 got Phantom!

Well... Rode NT2's are condenser mic's that require phantom power to work. So the phantom switch should be on. When you turn phantom power on you usually hear a bump sound (through the amplifier). In this case, nothing is broken.
Your picture is of a Rode Videomic (not an NT2) which is a stereo mic for video cameras. If you had some kind of stereo mini to (single) XLR adaptor, and put phantom power through it, the mic would probably be damaged. But maybe not... just try again without phantom power to see. a stereo mic won't work very well with the Mbox Mini because it only has one mic preamp.

Rode NT2-A

No. This is an analog microphone that requires no drivers. Check that another microphone works into the same input (and check that the phantom power supplied at the input meets the NT-2A specs).
