Speaker off Someone just gave me their old Mitsubishi CS-27407 27". I hooked it up through my directv connection, no problems there, but there was no sound, and it said 'speaker off'. The previous owner said he had it hooked up through his sound system, but it had been so long since he hooked up the tv he couldn't remember how he turned off the speaker (and no longer has the owner's guide or remote control). I can't find anything on my directv remote that might help, and there's nothing self-explanatory in terms of the buttons on the front of the machine. Help!

You will need an original Mitsubishi remote. The original remotes usually have 3 large oval buttons labeled Audio (up and down), Adjust (up and down) and Video (up and down). Pressing the Audio button will bring up the usual Bass, Treble, Balance... and Speakers Off. When you see those words press the Adjust button and the speakers will switch to On. Some sets have the Audio, Adjust and Video buttons behind a little door on the front of the set, so check there first and if not, get an original remote.

Hello, I have a very old mitsubishi color tv, model cs 2657r, which I purchased in the late 1980s. The picture is still great, and I'm trying to connect two small external speakers, though the internal...

Try stripping the speaker wires and exposing it about 1 inch. Then connect the speaker wires in a way that the part that grips or holds the wires touches the metal part and not the insulation. If there's still no sound, Please check the external speakers to see if it's working by using them in another device like a home system or audio player or maybe another tv that has an external speaker port. If not, mostly likely the switches are defective and needs replacement by a qualified technician.

Hope this helps.

Too old for on line tech help. If its an old tv it might have a switch in back of the tv to turn speakers on or off.

Directv D10 receiver

I guess the obvious question is, do you have a DirecTV dish installed on your house? If you do, then most likely the cable you have plugged into the Satellite Input on the back of the receiver isn't connected to the dish. I would recommend calling DirecTV and having them send a tech out to double check the system.
