Do you know how do you replace the FBT? I have the HV block on way, and IF the FBT isnt too difficuilt to replace I may look into that as well. I appreciate your time and input. Does it just press into place? or is there soldering involved? Fro the below picture it look like it may just stick into place.

Next to FBT flyback transfomer near the Hori output transistor is a high voltage capacitor 2k v check it it feeds to the output transistor and if it is bad high voltage will not come up.
Hi, Required D board part number for KP-51WS500 is appended below: A1300417A... D COMPLETE BOARD Available in Part Store, click the link for price info. Thanks.
CK Hori output Transistor and small blue high voltage capacitor 2kvolts 2,000volts They are next to FBT flyback Transfomer on Deflection board, which is Board that has the STK ICS mounted on it.
Well, it's DEFINITELY the High Voltage power supply is DEAD! Won't start up...or goes into OVERVOLTAGE SHUTDOWN....
Most of the time it's overvoltage problems...
The KEY to knowing which one is actually occurring is the amount of time it takes before the 6 blinks occur...
A DEAD HV circuit takes a lot of time, while the OVERVOLTAGE will take less than 40 seconds for it to register the 6 blink code....
In this case (overvoltage) replacing the HV oscillator/regulator IC is mandatory...
A dead HV circuit could be anything in the HV circuit, from the Regulator IC to the HV splitter...
It's really wiser to consult a TV technician on this....
According to service manual, 8 blinks is a high-voltage error. A link to the manual and a how-to guide for retrace lines is here:
