Green Screen then off...8 blinks

My Sony (mfg November 2002) JUST started this about 2 weeks ago. Comes on normally, then after about 25 seconds it flashes light green and shuts itself off. I'm getting 8 blinks from the standby light. I'm wondering if this is an HV DC Block failure, or if it is the dreaded "flicker problem." TV has worked great until 2 weeks ago...any ideas for self repair??? Thanks

According to service manual, 8 blinks is a high-voltage error. A link to the manual and a how-to guide for retrace lines is here: http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html
